Interesting messings-up of things at CKPE this evening!...
All was well through the second song of the second hour (#28, "Hysteria", Def Leppard) -- then the outro, the segment-ending bumper jingle, the segment-beginning bumper jingle, a couple seconds of Casey talking...and an immediate cut to commercials! Oo-kay, so it seemed at first that there was a sloppy insertion of a set of commercials where the Premiere cue sheet didn't call for any -- but coming out, they went into the segment starting with #26 ("I Want Her", Keith Sweat; completely skipping #27, "Man In The Mirror", Michael Jackson")...and in the middle of the Keith Sweat song, they cut again to commercials! Coming out again, they went into the segment starting with #23 ("I Live For Your Love", Natalie Cole; completely skipping #25, "Be Still My Beating Heart", Sting, and #24, "Out Of The Blue", Debbie Gibson), and they've been running about half an hour ahead of schedule ever since!...
It's one thing for stations to occasionally air segments from the previous week's show because automated downloads for the new week somehow didn't overwrite the old ones, but I can't imagine how such automated systems can create this kind of mess-up!...

It's one thing for stations to occasionally air segments from the previous week's show because automated downloads for the new week somehow didn't overwrite the old ones, but I can't imagine how such automated systems can create this kind of mess-up!... I've since discovered that there was an AT40 original extra which was also skipped -- Wham!, "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go", which appeared between #26 and #25... Hour 4 starting at about 7:37 in a 6-10 ET show slot. Can't wait to see what the automation does at the end of AT40 (assuming there isn't a board op responsible and on site... nah. (Actually, CKPE runs from 5 pm to 9 pm Eastern time, though it's true that it's 6-to-10 local, Atlantic, time...) The show played out flawlessly from #23 all the way to #1, including the Optional Extras, and regular in-house music programming started right up after the closing credits played out, same as if the show had ended at 9 pm instead of around 8:30 pm...

Wow. Quite amazing that there are not 1, not 2, not even 3, but FOUR stations in the area airing AT40 The 80's. Yesterday, I recorded the show off WINC, the station that comes in best here in Fairfax, VA. Actually listened to the top10, was asleep during the rest of the show. Listened today to WLTE Lite 97.5 Fm driving around in the car, so confirmed that they do air the show starting at 10am, and they seem to play all the optional extras. today thye ran the countdown late an stayed w/ it to its conclusion, at aprox 2:12 pm. Just listened to the start of the show on Q'96 WGRQ in Fredricksburg on my circa 1980's walkman, so it does start at 6pm. later the show will air on WQSR.
So as for updates: For WINC, I don't believe they do any optional extras, in fact (someone correct me if im wrong), the only time we hear Larry's voice is during the closing show credits. And Lite 97.5 does air the show at 10am sundays. And WGRQ does air the show also, sunday nights at 6pm. I know technically their city of license is Fairvew beach, but the 2 main cities that they serve are Colonial beach and Fredricksburg.. Nobody really knows where Fairview beach is.
Correction: WLTF

Eeeep. Good thing I didn't need their timeslot to hear the show this week.

Mike, thanks for your attention to my post. Also, remember to update/insert the encore time for KRVI - The River - 106.7 FM Springfield MO. The show repeats Sunday evening 9pm-1am eastern or 8pm-12mid local Springfield time(central). Only since it's attached, I CAN say that WKIX - 102.9 FM - Raleigh NC still has both AT 40 shows on their schedule but the '80's show is on SATURDAY at 6am and not Sunday at 6am as is incorrectly listed on this site. The '70's thread remains unchanged and correctly lists AT 40 - The '70's playing Sunday from 9am-12noon. Check station website for any needed clarification or verification. The station now goes by the moniker KIX 102.9 FM. Kudos and cheers! Mike, remember to add the additional (encore) listing for AT 40 tonight at 9pm for KRVI. This is a great addition to the list since very few stations remain to choose from by that point in any given weekend to catch the program. See the above attachment for the specifics regarding this station as well as the new info for WKIX. Thanks!

Correction: WLTF Didn't know there were so many close by, though for me only WINC and WQSR come in well at home and/or in the car. Fredericksburg is probably too far south for me and I'm not sure about Martinsburg (just found out about it now.) I wonder why, though, nobody nearby plays the 70s show since WLIF (Baltimore) dropped it in spring 2012, though that's not a big hurdle with streaming/iHeart/TuneIn. Locally we do get another decade with WINC also playing Rick Dees' 90s show.

A bad night as well for KQMA. They were fine until the end of Hour 3, then it kept speeding up & cutting off.

Grew up listening to 97.5 back when they were WKMZ and had Phlash Phelps back in the early 90's, however, today, it appears theres a spanish station relay on 97.5 comin out of Alexandria (only pumping a few watts, but thats enough) which now causes interference so you CAN hear it in the car but signals jump back an forth it seems. WQSR suffers the same fate for me, w/ that same spanish station (which I believe is the 'sometime's home to Mike O'Meara), has a relay at 102.9 coming off the tower right at 123/fairfax county parkway, which sadly is right up the street for me. Typically if I record WQSR, i try to get it at my folks house in Fairfax, I live in Burke. Sometimes tho, WQSR comes in crystal clear for me, usually during some tropo event. As for WGRQ, yea they are kinda tuff to get in too, alltho I was able to hear it on my walkman, not very well mind you. WGRQ comes in pretty good down in the Woodbridge area as I'm sure WLTF comes in pretty good in western fairfax county.

A couple of heads up for anyone planning on catching the February 21st, 1981 show on Hits 100 tomorrow (Sunday the 23rd) at 4 pm Eastern time...
First, the "hits100.fm" home page seems to have been totally redesigned since last weekend; in my admittedly slightly out-of-date version of Internet Explorer, I can't click on the "Listen Live" link, nor do I see any obvious menu option which leads to their "Listen Live" player! I had to load up "tunein.com" and search for "hits100" (actually, I Googled "hits100 tunein" and got that page at the top of the first page of results) in order to get their stream! If others have a similar problem with the "Listen Live" link, they could perhaps also try the "Winamp, Screamer Radio and Tapin Radio" link if their computers permit...
Second, they bobbled a segment during their Saturday-the-22nd-at-10-am-Eastern broadcast -- coming out of the first-hour Optional Extra, they skipped #31 through #28, going straight to #27 through #24, and then they replayed #27 through #24 before moving on to #23 and beyond and playing the segments flawlessly from there on out! If there's no human intervention between now and Sunday afternoon, the same bobble could happen again during the re-broadcast...
