Unusual edit for 'I live for your love'. Jumped keys in mid-chorus. Yeah, but it wasn't quite as bad as the one in "Honestly" by Stryper. I should check my copy of the original show later today when I get home. Curious what edits there are. During the last several months of Casey's ABC Watermark tenure, there were lots of sloppy edits. ETA: Yep, it was there in the original show. There could've been a much better place in the song to edit. I'm sure I could find one...oh, what the heck, it's only 32 years later. I'll pass.

I'm fairly sure that the bridge in "Power Of Love" by Laura Branigan was not in the AT40 Flashback version of the show, but maybe it was in the original run.

I have all the Flashback shows too, but I only have a couple of them imported into my library. Will have to check that one too.

Too bad Premiere felt they had to edit Pac-Man fever. They just could've faded it, after the 1st repetition of the fadeout.

T.S.O.P had a terrible edit on this weeks's March 16 1974 show. Was an edit really necessary??? It's an instrumental! Sheesh!

I just tuned in to AT40: The 80's via WGMN Magic 98 and noticed that the last verse and chorus for "Change of Heart" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers was looped a la Shadoe AT40! Unless it was the station's streaming fault...

Has Premiere let 'Father figure' play in its entirety? More often than not, they cut out the 2nd verse. Quoted from the "Chart Critiques" thread, as this should belong here. It's another "easy target" for Premiere, as the song is 5:37. Although I'm not sure what shows Premiere edited that song, in the original shows, it was edited on 2/6, 3/26, 4/2, 4/9, and 4/16* (final week). Any show outside of these, go ahead and point the finger at Premiere. * guest-hosted

On AT40: The 80's 4/18/1987: The #2 song of "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" by Starship had the second verse and chorus edited out. - Original or Premiere?

Been listening to all the CT40 shows in order from 1992 this year, and one song that has been edited every time so far (up to 4/25) is "You Think You Know Her" by Cause & Effect. The second verse and chorus have always been cut. Great song, too. Sean Rowley sadly died later in 1992 at age 23. C&E have had a few other songs on iTunes...good stuff.

Too bad Premiere felt they had to edit Pac-Man fever. They just could've faded it, after the 1st repetition of the fadeout. I never quite get why they cut out verses or other parts of extras and then let the ending play out for a while instead of doing just that--don't edit and fade out early. Then you aren't depriving the listener of any part of the song. Wouldn't most people prefer to hear all the verses and the bridge with a shorter ending over hearing the chorus repeated over and over?

In the first hour of CT40 shows 1989-1998 the first hour features mostly edited songs. Why is that? Hour 1 didn't have any more songs in it than the other ones - unless they ended the hour past song #31 and/or featured a LDD that hour. I'm pretty sure that they didn't play last week's #1 the whole time - I seem to recall that they only did that the first few months or so of CT40. But I do somehow remember that, the first two weeks that "Where Are You Now" by Synch was on the show, they cut out the second verse and chorus, and both of those weeks, the song was below #30.
