Careless Whisper, by George Michael, had its 2nd verse edited out, where he actually mentions the song title. Arrgh!

Is it a station-specific rap edit?? I am listening back to the KCLH broadcast of this morning and the rapping parts ARE there. "Ronny, Bobby, Ricky and Mike, if I like a girl, who cares who you like" is included as is the previous line??

Editing is always frustrating with shows. I know alot of you wouldn't like the year end shows anytime after 1980. Quite of bit of editing which I understand, your trying to squeeze in 100 songs in an 8 hour time period with commercial time. I kind of look at it in perspective as to why they edited quite a bit at the original time they aired. Think about it, alot of the songs they edited mostly hit top 20 at the time. And you were going to hear that song on stations continually running it throughout the day. But when you look at it now, you think why do they edit so much? Thats just my opinion on the matter.

The 2nd verse of 'Private dancer' was cut. Had to be a Premiere edit, 'cause the original show wouldn't've done that, its 1st week in the 40.

BTO's 'Roll on' had its 2nd verse excised, and also, Casey's outro came in to early, 'cause the song did end, didn't fade out.

Paul and Odia's song had the bridge and last verse removed. Also, 'Some kind of wonderful' had ITS 2nd verse removed.

'These dreams' had its 2nd verse cut out. Had to be Premiere's fault. The show would NEVER edit a song, on its 1st week in the 40.

The Charis site lists the running time of the first two original segments as a combined 15:32, whereas the same segment as listed on the Premiere cue sheet for this week lists it as 15:44. This may very well have been an edit taken from the original show.

Unusual, Michael, to say the least.

My favorite edit was and is and probably always will be one done on CT40 sometime in 1993. "I'd Die Without You" by PM Dawn was #1...and was edited down to about 90 seconds!

Yeah that one was really awful! I wondered if the stations cd had skipped!
