Now that WORC and Smooth 70s are gone, what are some of the better streams still available?

WODC - does a good job with the shows, usually airs all extras, plays the full 4-hour shows KLOU - has very good audio, doesn't run commercials too long very often, but only plays the last of the 3 extras KOKZ - does a good job with the shows, usually airs all extras, plays the full 4-hour shows WMJI - has very good audio, runs commercial breaks long at times, doesn't play extras KODJ - doesn't run commercials too long very often, plays all 3 extras, audio is funky sometimes
WORC and Smooth 70's join some of my favorites of years past that have dropped the show: KJL (dropped the show), WPCH and WJGH (both flipped formats)

KOKZ - Is now at the top of my list. Very good audio--playable in itunes and windows media... in addition to all the points made above.
CKWW - There is always good old CKWW (now Sundays only) Decent audio; plays all the extras, almost always runs the "A" show; plays only the last 3 hours of 4 hour shows... occasional automation screw-ups...
Radio Gold - Has excellent audio; doesn't play extras; is usually a week or two behind...

By the way I haven't found anything close to Smooth 70s.They either have a low level reverb or too much bass and not enough highs. Although KOKZ achieves pretty good balance with only 32 kbps at 44 kHz. I don't know how they do it. Smooth used 54 kbps at 48 kHz. Anyway I will keep trying until someone gets ahead of the pack.

KLFM in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia, has now become my 'go to' AT40 70s station. Am listening to them right now on iTunes. I like hearing the show on Friday evening--Saturday noon in eastern Australia.

KCLH seems to always play all the extras for both the 70s and 80s and the sound is fine for my purposes !

They played the 1974 show from 2 weeks back... I've never had an opportunity to check on Saturday, but from what I understand they play AT 40 on Saturdays and then repeat same show on Tuesdays... perhaps someone else who follows Radio Gold more closely will chime in with more details... Here is the link I use for Radio Gold: www.digitalradiostream.de:7000I know it works in iTunes; I have been using a small, lightweight, open source player called Media Player Classic lately and that is how I listened last Tuesday...

Thanks for the info rustydj. I realize I forgot to adjust for time difference. I made the same mistake with KOKZ so I missed the last hour. As an addition, KOKZ seems to have a well rounded balance for such low bitrate. I liked the quality.

Sorry, I don't know. Stereo/mono is not a factor for me. Their stream usually sounds crisp and bright to me. I just don't like streams that sound muddy or have dropouts. I also like the local Aussie ads--so much better than the annoying woman with the kid that hates her!

Listening to WHVO right now - their stream quality sounds pretty decent to me.

Another stream nobody mentioned is WCTB. They air the show Sunday night 8 PM-11 PM ET. They also air the optional extras. They have a very good stream.

Posting in this old thread to add a new favorite of mine: WYNZ Copy the following and add http:// before when you paste into a player edgev1.den.echo.liquidcompass.net/WYNZFMAAC They air the show at 6am Sundays. Stream quality (32 kbps AAC 44.1 khz stereo), levels, eq and compression all good--comparable to KOKZ. They are excellent going into and out of commercial breaks and they play all 3 extras. Downside is (according to the 70s Station thread) they only air 3 hours (not really much of factor right now as the only 4 hour shows would be from 1979 and I can grab those from KOKZ) I am editing this post to reflect that a couple of times, WYNZ has played AT40 The 80s instead of 70s. And I have a new favorite to add: WWOW... good quality stream, eq, compression... clean transitions into and out of commercial breaks (not cutting off jingles) Saturday 6 am - 9 am (FIRST Broadcast) (Show REPEATS on Sunday Noon - 3 pm) WWOW - 1360 Wow - "Boomer Tunes" - Conneaut OH 1360 AM s7.viastreaming.net:8200/listen.plsI'm not great at creating links, so it's best to look it up in the 70s Stations list. There are 2 other links as well for Quicktime and Real Player.
