Well usually some of you discover each and every small mistake made with the programmes, like a wrong jingle or a false announcement of movers .....
I have waited 2 weeks if someone will come in with this thread, but this time NON OF YOU discovered one of the badest editing mistakes since June of 2002, when Casey repeated himself the last time ( wich entered as key date in the history of the programme on Rob's website ):
On the AT20 show of 11-19-05 in hour 2 when Casey announced the story to the AT20-Extra hit "Take my Breath away" by Berlin, he repeated the phrase "A HIT FROM A MOVIE ABOUT JET PILOTS" right away for a second time .......
Usually some of you pull the mudd on the staff, when mistakes happen. This time time the mudd is on YOU diehard fans, because NON of you has noticed this mistake. I would not blame the staff for something like this, because who ever worked with sound editors on computers knows how fast and simple these things happen.

before critiquing the posters, you might want to ask if all the diehards heard the show. With all that is going on in my life, I haven't heard word one of any secular show other than the first AT10 Christmas show I listened to Thanksgiving night in probably a month and a half.

I do know that a revised replacement copy of Hour 2 of that weekend's American Top 20 show was sent to affiliates. Perhaps that was the corrected mistake, and therefore many stations did not air the error. I know that is something I would probably have noticed had I heard it. So, that could be the reason.

First off, folks...let's not get nasty. Mistakes are a part of life, and mistakes have unfortunately occured sometimes over the years on Casey's (as well as other) programs. Some more glaring than others. Pointing out mistakes is fine, but calling names when doing so is not acceptable.
Second, as was mentioned above, the mistake WAS discovered and replacement discs were sent to MOST affiliates...so most of us probably DIDN"T hear that error.

part of me was wondering if the mistake was corrected in time for many stations to get the proper disc/segment whatever. Premiere seems to be doing a good job of catching the mistakes and getting out corrected copies to many affiliates as fast as they can.
But, I didnt want to state that and open up another can of worms if it wasn't corrected.

As you said Paul, Premiere has been doing a great job at getting corrected copies out to affiliates. However, there is a noticeable mistake in this weekends AT20 show. I'm not gonna mention it just yet, but i'm curious to see if anyone else noticed it. (Not sure if there was a replacement disc or not, if there was either we didn't get it or the morning board-op didn't use it. I'll find out tonight)

Well, I was listening to this weekend's show not quite constantly just wondering around the house, but anyway, when speaking about editing mistake (even though I fully agree that these things happen and I don't see any reason to blame anyone for that) here is my contribution:
On January 29, 2006 edition of AT20, i.e. show #2006-05, Casey teased a story that was never paid off, quote: "That's Green Day down from number 4 to number 5 this week with their number one smash 'Wake Me Up When September Ends'. I'm Casey Kasem. Coming up an American Top 20 extra by Creed, a band whose former leader recently admitted that his drug abuse brought him close to suicide" Then when the time came to pay off the story Casey went, quote: "Holding at number 4 that's James Blunt and 'You're Beautiful'. Well now we're up to an extra by Uncle Kracker..." and an extra 'Drift Away' by Uncle Kracker & Dobie Gray was played.
I have an mp3 recording of that mistake from 106.7 The Best Mix WKMX. But it seems to me that I heard this extra by Uncle Kracker also being correctly teased and paid off on some other webcasting station, probably K-BIG 104.3 Los Angeles, or even on the next week show???
One more, just go back to AT40's Top 40 of the 90s and check how Casey introes Jewel at # 8, he mistakenly says AT # 11.
So these things happen, guys.

I'm surprised they'd go through the trouble of sending out a replacement disc over small errors like the "hit from a movie about jet pilots" error.

Mistake on this weekends AT20? Hmmmm, I have to pay attention and see if I notice it, when I hear AT20 tonight on the web.

Robert,
That was an affiliate mistake with the Creed/Uncle Kracker mixup. The Creed extra was teased in segment 10 and played in segment 11 of one show, and the Uncle Kracker extra was teased in segment 10 and played in segment 11 of another show. My guess is the station downloads the show into its automation system, and somehow one of the segments didn't get loaded in properly (or at all) and the computer reverted to the previous weeks segment. That is why the KBIG stream you heard does not contain the same error.

Well, you must be right on that error, because I was pretty sure I heard it next weekend properly, but it's true that usually I listen to K-BIG and so I did the next weekend after the error was aired.

Do you remember when you heard the goof? The Creed extra was played on the January 28/29 show, and the Uncle Kracker extra was heard the following week on the February 4/5 show.
My guess is the goof was aired the weekend of February 4/5 and the station replayed Hour 3's Segment 2. However, you say you heard KBIG play it correctly the following week. Does that mean the station got a hold of the show for the following week and somehow put that on a week early? I doubt that would even be possible.

I heard and recorded it from January 28-29, 2006 show on WKMX. There's no doubt about it and even the date of mp3 file I recorded off the internet webcast is January. I have no idea what this might be. In fact, on February 5, 2006 weekend I didn't record the show because I was leaving home for hospital just before the end of it.

Whatever you got here in this special case, it's not an editing mistake by the producers. It's an operations mistake by the station. Heard the show on several stations and they all played it correctly - correct story, correct song. And editing mistake is someting like I was originally posting here to start this topic.
