4/25/81 is probably as close to perfect as AT40 ever got for me.  Apr./May 81 was the peak of pop music in my world.  There would be other highs, but nothing like this.

Billy and the Beaters, Lee Ritenour and Dr. Noah Drake!! Gambler, Dottie with no mention of Gambler... Say What? APP, PPL, ORB, and CBS!!

How do you match the amazing June shows so far? You start w/Elt, Frank and Photoglo. Throw in Spider, Neil & Dara and Rocky Burnette! Then add Lions, Gambler, Dr. Hooker and Rupert Holmes not drinking Piña Coladas!

After 11 years of discernment and changing listening patterns, I would like to amend my initial thoughts on the 7/1/89 show. I still love 38 of the 40 songs. However, I am now including "Rooms On Fire" as a song I love and sending Bette to the "never need to hear again" department. "Good Thing" holds steady as my least favorite song from that countdown for its 1864th week in a row.
