Seacrest out. Pitbull in, guest hosting AT40 on the 4th of July weekend show. Surprised no one mentioned this yet...

Must miss radio right there! Amen to that. In fact, current AT40 is must miss radio to me ever since Ryan took over.

Since he won't be hosting next week, Ryan celebrated July 4 early on this week's show by noting the 43rd anniversary of AT40 (before playing this week's #1 he played a piece of Three Dog Night's "Mama Told Me (Not to Come"), and thanking Casey Kasem for his service. He said that after so many years "we're still keeping our feet on the ground, and reaching for the stars", which is as close as I've heard from anyone else to using Casey's signature signoff on the air.

I hope he will not be using that espanenglish thing. He is normally a Little bit nasty, I wonder how his spanish parts of his songs are not banned on English radio.

Back when Casey was hosting AT40, I never thought I would listen to Rick Dees.
Now I find myself not caring about AT40 with Seacrest as host, and prefer listening to Dees.
Pitbull? REALLY? Talk about putting pearls before swine...

I would imagine his voice will be like nails on a chalkboard after a few hours, or perhaps even minutes.

Although I'm not a Pitbull fan, I've heard well over half of this weekend's upcoming show and was pretty impressed with him. Was pretty funny in spots, too.

I would have to agree with the above statement. I have listened to the entire show. Pitbull was good and funny too. It's worth a listen to.

Is Ed Sheeran the 1st UK act to sub host an AT40?.
I think in Casey´s era there was another UK DJ who did it, but I am not sure.

I was about to say that Gordon Elliott is Australian, but (like Olivia Newton-John and the Bee Gees) he was actually born in the UK.

Like most of Ryan's guest hosts these days there were tons of extras and the show was primarily sweepers and the occasional commentary from Ed. I feel like they talk so little they can come in and do this show now in 30 minutes. Kind of like Hall and Oates wanted to!
