Since the days of Casey's Top 40, WFLZ in Tampa has aired CT40 and then AT40 on Saturday mornings, and added Ryan's On Air weekday show when all the Clear Channel CHR stations picked it up.
This morning on my way to work I heard the Hot AC version of AT40 on sister station Mix 100.7 (which aired Casey's AT20 from January 2004-mid 2007). Is this the first time both versions of Ryan's shows have been heard in the same market? They are promoting that the weekly On Air show switches from FLZ to Mix tomorrow, so maybe AT40 will be leaving FLZ.

Seriously? What time on Sunday?! Edit: nevermind. I read on another board it's 6-10 on Sunday morning. I would assume it will not remain on FLZ. One thing I have never understood is why if you air his weekday show from 3-7, why not air the countdown in the same time slot? That's when people would be used to hearing him.

Clearly the end of an era for some form of the Pop version of AT40 on WFLZ. They started airing Casey's Top 40 in 1993 after its' previous affiliate Q105 switched from pop to country (they're now oldies) and they aired CT40 until its' end and they aired the Pop version of AT40 (both Casey and Seacrest versions) from the beginning. I didn't even record last Saturday's airing of AT40 on WFLZ (although there's apparently no point of recording off them now).

Still, I wonder why they FLZ is dropping the show. It makes me wonder if this is more about trying to rebrand Mix then anything dealing with FLZ. Seems like Mix has been in constant schedule turmoil since before I moved here in 2008. So maybe this is a way to make them appear more hip to a younger though not quite 16 year old audience. I know Magic 94.9 has got to be eating in to their audience.

Out of curiosity did anybody record AT40 on WFLZ or any other station (CHR not Hot AC)? If so can you please PM me a copy? Thanks.

I'm posting again to put out an APB on this weekend's CHR version of AT40 preferably recorded on an American radio station because I have copies from two international affiliates and neither of them seem to have the Ne-Yo extra "Forever Now". Help is appreciated. Much thanks.

I don't think you would have gotten the extra off FLZ anyway. I can't remember but I don't think they play them.

I don't remember them airing them before. I guess they do. WFLZ played AT40 extras like Bridgit Mendler's "Ready Or Not" (1/26/2013 show) and Ellie Goulding's "Anything Could Happen" (2/16/2013 show) when previous recordings of these shows (other stations) did not include these songs. I think WFLZ does not air the end-of-hour extras. Maybe that's what you were thinking of (I did notice WMTX does play the end-of-hour extras on the Hot AC show; they aired all except Britney Spears' "If U Seek Amy").

That's what I thought you meant, the end of hour extras.

Both versions of American Top 40 with Ryan Seacreast CHR and HOT AC did air two Detroit stations in the past. WKQI airs the CHR Version, WNIC aired the HOT AC version. This only occurred from Jan. 2011 to early Novmeber 2012. The HOT AC was dropped by WNIC during the XMAS switch in 2012. When the regular HOT AC format returned by 2013, WNIC did not bring back AT40. WKQI continues to air the CHR version in Detroit.
WKQI always aired AT40 CHR from 8 am to Noon on Sundays. WNIC aired AT40 HOT AC on Sundays from 6 am to 10 am for about a month, then moved to 8pm to Midnight.
Just a side note, in 2003 WKQI aired AT40 with Casey and WNIC air AT20 AC with Casey both at the same time.

Well, I guess we have two AT40 affiliates. I turned on FLZ this morning and AT40 CHR is still airing on there.
