Mark said George and Andrew would return as Wham! with countdown Freedom after the quasi solo Careless Whisper. Of course Everything She Wants was their Wham! reunion.

The on demand site is listing the replay as 1987 w/ the old Martha intro. They didn't fix last week's 1981 talk break before Lonely 'Ol Night.

The on demand site is listing the replay as 1987 w/ the old Martha intro. They didn't fix last week's 1981 talk break before Lonely 'Ol Night. The talk break has been removed as of this morning's broadcast. Not sure if they'll find the time to record a new one. As of the third airing, they now have the new talk break.

If we're going to knock minor slips of the tongue, Nina referred to "America's Top 40" when recounting the saga of Casey Kasem and Snuggles, leading into "Dare Me".

If we're going to knock minor slips of the tongue, Nina referred to "America's Top 40" when recounting the saga of Casey Kasem and Snuggles, leading into "Dare Me". This is getting mind-blowingly ridiculous. To me, this is worse than a little slip of the tongue. They're talking about the one program that, more than any other, inspired their hot mess -- and they can't even get THAT name right??? I've got to figure out a way to get in direct contact with Jim Ryan and give that man a long-overdue earful. I've been keeping my listening to a bare minimum as it is, like when I know that a lot of my favorite records will be in the top 10, or something like that. It's just that it's getting harder and harder to focus on the music when you find yourself waiting for that next talk break to hear what the next screw-up will be.

I was listening to the new talk break and they couldn't even get that right. Alan said Lonely 'Ol Night was the followup to JCM's 1983 Authority Song. The latter first charted 3/84. Then about 5 songs after the special Labor Day night airing wrapped up with #1 Power of Love; they played....Power of Love. These flubs need to stop!

Then about 5 songs after the special Labor Day night airing wrapped up with #1 Power of Love; they played....Power of Love. These flubs need to stop! That was because they had a guest DJ thing right after the countdown, and the guy who hosted it (Andy Grammer) had the song on his list.

I also don't consider a song a "followup" to another when it appears a year and a half after its predecessor and comes from a different album. But peoples' mileage may vary.

Nina said during the intro for "Fake" that Aexander O'Neal had a string of 14 Top-40s during the 80s and 90s. This was on the UK Singles Chart. The only Top-40 successes Mr. O'Neal had in the US were the countdown single "Fake" and the two duets with Cherrelle.

In yet another blunder, Nina announced "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" and its movement in the outro of "Touch of Grey" instead of "Wipe Out".

You can add baseball errors to Nina's resume as well. In the 1987 opening, she said the Minnesota Twins beat the St. Louis Cardinals four games to two. It was really four games to three, as the World Series went a full seven games.

It was really four games to three, as the World Series went a full seven games. I wonder if she had Game 7's final score on the brain, which was 4-2. Very memorable World Series, aside from 1991 and 2001.
