From this weekend's Casey lite Matthew Wilder's Break My Stride; I assume this line refers to the Calgon commercial popular at the time.
"I sailed away to China In a little row boat to find ya And you said you had to get your laundry cleaned"

Joni's "You Turn Me On, I'm A Radio" mentions transistor (radios) as do other top 40 hits.

"Batdance" by Prince. "Let me stick the 7-inch in the computer" - The original reference to floppy discs may be lost on modern listeners. They'll just think Prince is f**king his PC. There were 8", 5 1/4" and 3 1/2" disks, but no 7". I wonder if he is referencing the 45 here.

Much like many of his songs, Little Red Corvette for instance has nothing at all to do with a car.

I never thought of this until right now, but the whole concept of "Money For Nothing" by Dire Straits would definitely make less sense today. The premise would still be understood, but I haven't seen anyone play guitar on MTV since 1999 or so.

Cell phones are now the ginsu knives of our lives. Slices, dices, emails, texts and can often find us Casey. Love this! Mine is a tablet- but remotely: my brother found AT40 last year on his, started listening, hit a Top 33 probably, found this forum... :-) Only downside - much easier to run multiple tabs in multiple browsers while trying to track down 2 different countdowns, one of them 4hour, if you are using a computer.

Larry Groce's "Junk Food Junkie" refers to Hostess Twinkies, now a thing of the past at least under that brand. Twinkies themselves should resume production under new ownership; same for Ding Dongs, also mentioned in the song.
