Watch out for Shaggy - he's currently gaining top 40 airplay with "I Need Your Love". If that makes the AT40 chart (which it could very well), he could get added to this list. It's official - Shaggy makes the AT40 chart this week so he can be added for the 10's.

Looks like pretty soon the Backstreet Boys will get added to the 10's list - "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" is currently top 30 on Mediabase pop radio. Just waiting for Ryan to introduce it.
EDIT: It's now charting so the Backstreet Boys can be added.

Also, Rivers Cuomo of Weezer is featured on the AJR hit, “Sober Up.”

Big Boi can also be added now - he's charted since the 90's as a member of Outkast and his latest solo hit "All Night" has now made the AT40 chart.

It has been a good run on AT 40 lately for acts who debuted in 1999 or earlier. Weezer could be joining Backstreet Boys, Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Inglesias, the aforementioned Rivers Cuomo of Weezer, Big Boi and Justin Timberlake who have all charted this year. We've talked about it on other threads but it is amazing that in the 14 years Ryan has been on, there have only been a handful of weeks in which there was not a Casey Era artist on AT 40 (thanks in large part to Maroon 5). I love seeing acts from years ago still finding a way to chart.

Just realized this, but when Kendrick Lamar's latest album was released and most of its cuts charted, one of those made the top 40 that would qualify an act for this list - "XXX" featuring... U2, which gave them a top 40 hit in the 2010's.

Thanks. I also added Queen, since "Bohemian Rhapsody" recharted this week.

Two of the most unlikely artists ever to be considered for 2010's may have to be added. Billy Ray Cyrus appears on a remix of Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road"; I'm not sure if he has an official credit on it, but if he does, he can be added. Also, currently in the Mediabase top 40 (with a chance at hitting AT40) is "Con Calma", which is by Daddy Yankee, featuring a sample of Snow's "Informer", which gives him a featured credit. So two of the biggest novelty artists of the 90's getting hits in 2019... who's next? Right Said Fred? Los Del Rio? Vanilla Ice?

Billy Ray Cyrus is listed on the song on Billboard's website, so I added him. Have to wait and see on Snow.
By the way, beginning next year, I can start adding 2000s acts to the list if they continue hitting the charts. That could include Maroon 5, Panic at the Disco, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Pink, and Taylor Swift, among others.

This is the most surreal thing I've ever seen. It looks like a certainty Snow will be hitting the top 40. Of course, we have to wait on Billy Ray. By the way, it is more than a sample. Snow actually raps on it, changing parts of the lyrics to "Informer" for 2019. In fact, if it wasn't for Katy Perry on the remix, I think the original "Con Calma" was actually credited as a duet between Yankee and Snow. I never thought that I would be talking about Snow in 2019 as a legitimate hot artist. But. Here. We. Are.

Given his appearance on Post Malone's new album, Ozzy Osbourne can now be added for the 2010's.

Added.
And in a few short months, the 2020s will be able to be added to the list.
Which acts that hit the Top 40 for the first time in the 2000s will be making the cut? Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, and Maroon 5 are all likely. Panic at the Disco's recent chart resurgence may carry them past New Year's. And then there are others whose careers are far from over, such as Fall Out Boy, Rihanna, and Kanye West.

And since Adele is releasing a new album soon, she certainly will too.

Thanks. I remembered Bieber after I posted last night. Also thought of Kelly Clarkson and Pink.
