LOL, I've been listening for about seven hours today and have YET to hear a #1 song. It started with a 1984 countdown, before it was finished it switched to 1985, and before finishing that show, started replaying the exact same show. Before that show could finish, we switched to 1983 and played the same parts of the show consecutively. Now we're REALLY stuck...in 1980, playing the same single segment for the FOURTH time in a row! (#33 Forever Mine by the O'Jays and #32 Why Me by Styx) It's almost like GROUND HOG DAY the movie!

This is the very reason why I've stopped listening to it.

This repeat GROUND HOG DAY segment reminded me of a blooper back around 1998 when WYSS in Sault Ste. Marie aired AT40 with Casey Kasem.
I was driving up to Sault Ste. Marie on the last Saturday in June 1998. They were having their annual International Bridge walk. It was about 7:55 am. AT40 was airing the last segment of hour 2, which was the #21 song (I don't rememeber the song now). The semgment aired as normal, the end hour jingle "Counting down the hits....." ended the segment. WYSS did not jump to hour 3. Instead they aired a few local ads, played the WYSS jingle. However, instead of hour 3 and #20, the #21 was played again. The sement was replayed. Two more local commericals aired. The WYSS jingle was played, then #21 was played again.
This went on for six times, until finally #20 and the third hour finally started. WYSS did air the whole show, but it ran at least 1/2 over its ending time.
What caused the error, the DJ put the station on "Auto Pilot" to set up the WYSS live shot at the International Bridge Walk. The people waiting for the walk, quickly became sick of hearing the same song over and over again.
