SO if you could narrow it down to just one song, what's your favorite Donna Summer song? "Hot Stuff" - hands down. "Love Is In Control (Finger On The Trigger)" - a close second. Honorable mentions go to: "I Feel Love" "Love To Love You Baby" Anyone hear of "Supernatural Love"? I think it was a jungle-themed video from 1984, and I am not certain if it made it to AT40. If it did appear on AT40, what position did it peak at? Also, Donna Summer did a song with Musical Youth in 1983 with "Unconditional Love" - I don't think it made the top 40. I could be dead wrong, though.

SO if you could narrow it down to just one song, what's your favorite Donna Summer song? I like a LOT of her songs, but my favorite would be one that wasn't such a big hit, but really loved the song...."State of Independence" I bought just one Donna Summer record, the original LP with the full version of "Love To Love You Baby". An interesting side note that you're likely aware of -- that song's chart climb stopped at #2 on Valentine's Day 1976, with "50 Ways To Leave Your Lover" at #1. And I believe it was late November 1975 or early December 1975 when an item written by Chicago Sun-Times columnist Irv Kupcinet appeared, blasting the sexuality of Donna Summer's newly released record. IIRC, he used the moans and groans, and overall theme of lust found within "Love To Love You Baby" as a reason why American society was deteriorating.

Some sources say that Donna Summer's cancer may have been triggered by toxic dust particles during the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Apparently, 1,000 people have died from the particles already - 350 of them due to cancer. I guess I have no desire to visit New York City at all. The air hasn't been safe for some years now, possibly.

The summer of '79 was the Summer Of Donna.

Some information for game show fans (there are some game show fans on these boards)...
Donna Summer also appeared on Tom Bergeron's Hollywood Squares as a celebrity on two separate weeks, in 2001 and 2003 respectively, if I recall. Shadoe Stevens announced on Hollywood Squares in 2001, and "The Fonz" announced in 2003.

I mentioned on another thread that I got lucky and recorded AB when Donna guest hosted - it was when VH1 ran "The Best of American Bandstand" a few years ago.

And worst:
Now, we will never know how to correctly parse
"Someone read the letter you wrote me on the radio".
