2/28/81 was aired back in 2010 and the Beatles Special was offered as a bonus show during the Memorial weekend of 2013.

If I were choosing the shows for the rest of 2014, I'd probably go with 11/24/84, 11/27/82, 12/5/81, 12/12/87, 12/17/83, and the complete year end 1980 to make it as rerun-free as possible (every year from 1980-87 has had at least the year end top 50 played) without putting any two shows from the same year too close together.

I think you'll be close to right there....another combination is: 11/24/84  11/28/87 12/5/81 12/17/83  12/21/85 & Top 100 of 1982

KGOR, WKZG, WRIT & WTIC plays 3-hour shows.
*Played both shows. WTIC played both shows a week apart.

Some observations:

KOOL & WMGN will opt out of 1980 & 1981 shows.
KCCL & KOKZ will opt out of 1986,1987 & 1988 shows.

WTOJ has history of playing both shows when AT40: The 70s also offers 2 programs. Station offers all 4.

^jmack19, thanks for the info. It's starting to become (somewhat) clear which stations will opt for the 'B' shows and when. So far it's been tricky trying to determine which stations those might be for the 80's series (I feel like we now know where to go to get the 'B' shows in the 70's series).

What we need is for WODC to pick up the 80's series, so we can get as many as four shows in one weekend when 'B' shows are offered in both the 70's and 80's series.

WEZG & WTOJ does carry all four shows in one weekend when 'B' shows are offered in both the 70's and 80's series. WEZG does carry the 4-hr shows from 1978 & 1979 like WODC. Those shows start an hour earlier than the regular schedule. WTOJ offers the 80s on Saturday & the 70s on Sunday.

I think 1988 gets more reaction from affiliates than any other year. It is not so much that stations opt for the "B" show. You also get some going with last weeks' show and others going with no show at all. I believe 1980 is second in that department.

On the good side, it looks like Magic 103.1(WTOJ) & Abigail Radio(WEZG) will carry both shows next weekend. WTOJ will likely carry both programs on Saturday(It is a 4-show weekend). WEZG will carry 1988 on Friday afternoon & 1980 Sunday night.

That is because the 88 and 80 shows often stray from typical 80s music still in rotation at classic hits and AC stations
