Just in case you don't know, a poster named Burtis Curtis has posted several America's Top 10 shows on You Tube. Along with AT40, I used to watch this every weekend back in the day. Only thing is that videos are skipped due to copyright laws. Thank you Burtis Curtis. Below is one from 2/26/84. The second one is from 10/18/80. There are many many more!!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6ppA38iP7Iwww.youtube.com/watch?v=ShaH1PNEQrQ&feature=related

In my area, "AT10" ran on KRON (now a MyNetwork affiliate), KBHK (now a CW affiliate known as KBCW), KTZO TV20 (now known as KOFY), and, I think, KGO, which was, and still is, an ABC affiliate. I also caught the show on KOVR (now a CBS station) and KFTY (once a Me-TV affiliate, now known as Spanish-language outlet KEMO).

There are also at least 2 episodes with Bob Eubanks - future host of CBS Card Sharks - sub-hosting.
And yes, America's Top 10 got cancelled in the early 1990s. Sometime in 1992, I believe. Wonder if the Radio & Records format replacing Billboard's Hot 100 was to blame for America's Top 10's cancellation? Or was it due to the demand for top 40 radio in decline (same reason for AT40's demise 3 years later)?

I think it had something to do, indirectly, with the decline in top 40 radio in that Casey and Westwood One decided at this time to expand into adult contemporary to keep his countdowns viable long-term. In the spring of 1992 "Casey's Countdown" debuted, and he apparently decided to concentrate on that and CT40 instead.

Pretty sure it had to do with lack of affiliate interest and good advertisers vs the work required with now doing two countdowns. If you ever saw the show in the 92 era it was like some off brand of teeth cleaning solution advertising in the national spots, not snickers, car companies, and feminine products (a hot advertiser in that era if anyone remembers).

I used to LOVE watching this show growing up. In its early years, there was a "Favorite Artist Contest" in which viewers had to send in their top 3 favorite recording acts of all time on a postcard. Back in 1980, the BEATLES and the ROLLING STONES both naturally finished in the top 3.....BUT they were beat out by another act at the time. Anyone wanna take a guess who that act was?
