Very sad. Every year around the Superbowl I always remember back to her singing of the National Anthem at SB XXV. RIP.

Never a happy ending when using drugs. You see it over & over. Her voice will be missed.

Whether it was lip synced or not, Ms. Houston's performance of The Star Spangled Banner at the 1991 Super Bowl is the definitive version of that song.

Her voice will be missed. Unfortunately her voice was missed years ago and would never be the same. Whether that had anything to do with her untimely death remains to be learned. On the eve of the Grammys it does seem like a coincidence. She had it all and threw it all away. Very sad.

Whether it was lip synced or not, Ms. Houston's performance of The Star Spangled Banner at the 1991 Super Bowl is the definitive version of that song. Even if it was lip synced, she performed the vocals and it wasnt auto tune and other computer and technological voodoo making it happen. The CNN guy even said something to that effect about his voice in general. I wish I had the exact quote but he said something like in this age of auto tune, synthesizers, another stuff to make artist sound even somewhat presentable she could actually sing.

What a sad loss in the world of music.
What a shocker indeed. Though Michael Jackson's death in 2009 didn't surprise me at all (I knew it was coming, to be quite honest), and same story for Amy Winehouse.
Saddest death in music since Michael Jackson, IMO.
R.I.P., Ms. Houston. And thank you for some wonderful talent.

"Greatest Love of All" ends and is immediately followed by "Previously on Jersey Shore." Nice tactful job Moron TV!

Whether it was accidental or even intentional, this is indeed sad.

Whether it was lip synced or not, Ms. Houston's performance of The Star Spangled Banner at the 1991 Super Bowl is the definitive version of that song. It's interesting that at least one Canadian radio station -- CFCA in Waterloo, Ontario (or its sister station CKKW AM 109) -- weekly deleted this song from AT40 beginning with its March 9, 1991 debut.

Probably UK charts today will have some songs by Whitney, if not, next weekend, the re entries . When Michael Jackon died , Man in the mirror was number 1 in the iTunes Chart on the radio and the Album Number Ones was number 1 that weekend. I cant believe she has died, she is a legend. Her best song, IMHO, is So emotional. www.goear.com/listen/4c444c3/so-emotional-mix-whitney
