Is one of the extras going to be replaced by her 1985 hit "We Don't Need Another Hero"?

So Tina Turner Tribute this weekend . Possibly too late in the week? If not this weekend, next weekend for sure. Next weekend's A is 1980, and there's no relevant Tina Turner hit from that year. But if 1984, 86, or 87 is the B she had top 40 hits in those years which could be used; 1986 is also about due for a standalone shortly thereafter, and obviously "Typical Male" would work as it didn't reach the top 40 until September. Even if this week's optionals aren't changed, Tina does appear in the countdown with "Show Some Respect".

It’s so weird. It’s feels like Tina Turner was a part of our lives, the soundtrack of our lives for so long, for so many decades. I remember watching her videos in the 80s and being in awe. She seemed larger than life and now she’s gone and there’s a void and I don’t know if any current artists can fill that void. There will never be another Tina Turner.

Since 1989 songs are sometimes used as extras in 1988 shows her 1989 hit "The Best" could be used if a 1988 show is the 'B'.

There may be another option, if Premiere were to think of this: Doing what they did for Prince in 2016 - offering an off-week show as a separate choice that would specifically spotlight her.
For Prince, 8/4/84 was offered, and that airing had all Prince extras - for her, I'd imagine it would almost certainly be 9/1 that would be offered up.

None of them were released in 1989. If Premiere did what they did for Prince, as Mike mentioned, they could use "The Best" as one of the extras. "Batdance" was used as one of the extras for the Prince tribute show.

I’ll never understand why Laura Branigan wasn’t a bigger star than she was. I dug a lot of her songs. Songs like Gloria and Self Control. She was a great singer but was pretty much forgotten after 1987 after releasing her version of The Power Of Love (unfortunately for Branigan was only a minor hit for her and a massive international hit for Celine Dion) and then dying young at age 52 in 2004. You can blame the act two spots ahead of Laura on the 5/19/84 countdown. She overan MTV and after that, there wasn't much room at radio for acts that didn't look & sound like Madonna.

Laura was very easy on the eyes as well, which made her a really good fit for the MTV era. "Self Control" is my favorite song of hers -- a bit edgier than her other material. I do think she suffered a little from not always having great songs (though who can figure out why "Power Of Love" was a modest hit for Laura but a huge smash for Celine), which was one thing Madonna made her living off of. Madge always seemed to have a keen sense of what the pop audience wanted to hear. It’s so weird. It’s feels like Tina Turner was a part of our lives, the soundtrack of our lives for so long, for so many decades. I remember watching her videos in the 80s and being in awe. Agree with this -- there really will never be another. She had such a unique package with her voice, look, charisma, and general perception of being a good person off stage. In addition, she could sing all types of music, and rocked out on several of her big hits. Add to it her story of survival during what seemed like a miserable existence through much of her marriage to Ike, and victorious comeback at an age where most artists are long done. RIP Tina...

Same thing happened to ONJ.

One of my favorite Branigan songs is A Love Until the End of Time from the CHiPs episode Head Over Heels. To my knowledge, to this day it has never been released commercially.
