David Seville aka Ross Bagdasarian passed away in early 1972-In 1980,his son Ross Bagdasarian Jr. came out with an album called "Chipmunk Punk" that was fairly successful. The first of the resurrected 'Chipmunk' LPs, followed by "Urban Chipmunk" and "A Chipmunk Christmas" in '81, with the latter being a remake of his Dad's original 1962 "Christmas With the Chipmunks" LP; and "Chipmunk Rock" in '82. All four albums charted, and the first three were certified 'Gold'. "Chopmunk Punk" charted the highest, reaching #34. Ross senior's original 1959 "Let's All Sing With the Chipmunks" album had peaked at #4, and contained the #1 1958-'59 single "The Chipmunk Song". There was also in late 1982 "The Chipmunks Go Hollywood", the Chipmunks would return to the Billboard 200 album/CD chart in 1992 once more with "Chipmunks in Low Places" (A sequel to Urban Chipmunk).

Prediction for next show: 5/21/83 It's been more than 3 months since the last 1983 standalone and it's eligible (and fairly ripe) for another spin, it almost has to be this one. Then maybe on Memorial Day weekend we may get 5/29/1987 (last a standalone in 2014 and then a B show in 2017).

If you don't mind missing out on commercials and the optional extras, the 5/19/1984 show is coming on tomorrow starting between 5:30 and 6:00 PM.

On the 5/19/84 show, Casey said no song had ever debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at #1. LOL! Happens all the time now.

But no song entered at #1 on Ryan Seacrest's AT40 since Ryan started hosting AT40 in 2004? The closest of debuting at #1 on AT40 was in October 1992 when during the Billboard Top 40 Radio Monitor chart source era used for Shadoe AT40 "Erotica" by Madonna entered at #2 (but would peak at that position not moving to #1 at all, although it beat the previous record of "I'll Be There" by Mariah Carey which entered AT40 at #4 in May 1992 and that Mariah Carey song - a cover of a Jackson 5 #1 song done live and Unplugged - moved to #1 2 weeks later).

No; the highest new entry I can think of for the Seacrest era is in the lower part of the top 10 (#9 or thereabouts.)

No; the highest new entry I can think of for the Seacrest era is in the lower part of the top 10 (#9 or thereabouts.) What has there been since "Born This Way" (#9 on 3/5/2011)? "Look What You Made Me Do" came VERY close on 9/16/2017 but entered one notch shy. I want to think there's been at least one other Top 10 debut since 2004 besides those two, but I'm drawing a blank as to what it would have been. Wasn't Taylor's "Shake it Off", as that got low-balled with a #33 debut on 9/6/2014.

Palisades Park closed at the end of the 1971 Summer season. NYC's/NJ's Palisades Park now is in the world of deceased theme parks such as Glen Echo Park in the Washington, D.C. area (The carousel survives but the rest is a fine arts recreation park or something like that) and Riverview Park in Chicago and Pirate's World in Dania, Florida; although the theme parks of Disney, Six Flags, Cedar Fair, Universal, Hershey, and Sea World still thrive and survive to that day. Freddy Cannon would later remake "Palisades Park" as a TV commercial for Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area theme park Kennywood Park with "Kennywood" replacing "Palisades" as you can see in this late 1980's TV commercial for Kennywood: www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oCyqjdYYfQAlso for 5/19/1984: Casey mentioned that the title of Joe Jackson's 1984 album "Body and Soul" (featuring the song "You Can't Get What You Want") was taken from the title of a little known old movie dealing with a boxer.

Legendary NYC radio personality Bruce Morrow alias "Cousin Brucie" hosted many live concerts at Palisades Park during the 1960's when he worked at Musicradio 77 WABC.
