For those that listen to KZOY on Winamp or other music players through this link, it has been down for the last couple of days so it might not be available this weekend. However, this link from Online Radio Box can be used as an alternate. (WWIS uses the same Secure Net Systems link* and theirs is working just fine.) *Not quite the same; WWIS's starts with "ice5" and KZOY's starts with "ice3". UPDATE: It still doesn't work, so the Online Radio Box link is the only option to use for today (their TuneIn player also isn't working). I am able to get Sunny Radio KKOZ using the stream gemini.shoutca.st:8047/stream

Casey made a faux pas in the intro to "Valotte", referring to the artist as John Charles Julian Lennon, when it is actually Julian Charles John Lennon. He just got the "J" names mixed up. He could have been called "J.C. Lennon".

On AT40: The 80's 12/8/1984 Casey answered a question letter about live #1 songs and Casey mentioned five - "Fingertips" by Little Stevie Wonder, "My Ding-a-Ling" by Chuck Berry, "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" by John Denver, "Got to Give It Up Part 1" by Marvin Gaye, and "Coming Up" by Paul McCartney. Casey forgot to mention "Peppermint Twist" by Joey Dee and the Starlighters (Charlie Van Dyke in a guest hosted for Casey AT40 in 1987 would clear this up)! Casey did mention that Elton John's "Bennie and the Jets" wasn't a real live recording since it was artificial live concert noises mixed in with Elton's singing (Not even "The Streak" by Ray Stevens, "Love Will Keep Us Together" by the Captain and Tennille, and "I Can Help" by Billy Swan was really recorded live!). Later came these live #1 songs: "At This Moment" by Billy Vera and the Beaters, "Mony Mony" by Billy Idol, and "I'll Be There" by Mariah Carey.

"Got to Give It Up" was recorded live in the studio with a bunch of Marvin's friends and invited guests, but not live-in-concert as the other songs were.

Does anyone know if the soldier that was mentioned as MIA ever was located? (The one he played Carry On My Wayward Son for.)

Does anyone know if the soldier that was mentioned as MIA ever was located? (The one he played Carry On My Wayward Son for.) I was curious as well but “Howard” the writer never mentions his brothers name. I did a google search and 1,600 POWS were “unaccounted for” without a last name it’s hard to know for sure.

Prediction for next show:
12/20/86
It seems like a coin flip between 1980 and 1986. 1981 is a no-go for the year-end special so 1980 and 1987 are still contenders therefore I'm guessing this coin lands 1986 side up to make the possibility still ambiguous.

I wouldn't totally count out 1981 (Premiere has played December countdowns before just a few weeks before the year-end special from the same year; case in point -- the last time 12/8/84 was played was 2015 -- the Top 100 of 1984 was played 3 weeks later, 12/2/72 was aired a few weeks before the Top 80 of 1972 in 2018, etc.). That being said, 1987 would certainly seem to be the most likely year for the Top 100 special (and 1980 wouldn't be a bad guess either).

So it almost has to be 1987 for the year-end show.

The countdown from 12/20/80 was notable in that well known holiday songs were played in lieu of the "AT40 Archive" selections-The three songs in question were "Step Into Christmas"-Elton John,"The Christmas Song" by Nat King Cole & "White Christmas" by Bing Crosby.

So it almost has to be 1987 for the year-end show. 1980 should be out since they wouldn't likely play 12/20/80 the week before the 1980 Top 100. Chances of 1981 would figure to be thin. One year I wouldn't totally count out is 1986 -- last played in 2018, which makes it repeatable even though it's one of the more recent year-enders that has been aired. They haven't played an '86 show since the first week of October, which is curiously long. But yeah, 1987 should be the most likely.
