A lot of double-digit droppers on the 10/10/1987 show; the largest drop I've noticed was When Smokey Sings (went from #8 to #20).

Hard to believe “Touch Of Grey” was the Grateful Dead’s one and only Top 10 hit.
I liked the rundown of Forbes Top Earners of 86/87 (4 on the top ten are now deceased:Johnny Carson,Whitney Houston,Michael Jackson and Charles Schultz) and no surprise number one was Bill Cosby. Although for obvious reasons people cringe when they hear his name nowadays.

Hard to believe “Touch Of Grey” was the Grateful Dead’s one and only Top 10 hit. It makes more sense when the band were really not ones with an eye towards singles or the charts - heck, one could characterize "Grey" (and for that matter, its parent album In the Dark) going Top 10 as a million-to-one accident.

No matter which annual countdown is selected this year, it should be a bit more difficult to hear the first part this time, since Christmas day falls on a Saturday.

Would the day after Christmas on Sunday be possible too? Almost all stations that flip to holiday music should be back to normal programming on Sunday, December 26th, so we shouldn't have any trouble hearing the AT40 classic countdown on that day (though the stations that normally play the show on Saturday will probably be a no-go).

Some stations on an all Holiday music format when Christmas falls on a Saturday continue playing Holiday music for the rest of the weekend going back to regular programming midnight Monday.
Are we sure that part 1 airs the week of December 25 and not the week of January 1?

I'm thinking the same thing. Part 1 the week of January 1st and part 2 the week of January 8th would be the best thing to happen.

Maybe only known in Austria, but ... If a countdown had fallen on Christmas Eve (absolute no-go) or on Christmas Day, it was always moved to Boxing Day --> just a simple idea ...

I'm thinking the same thing. Part 1 the week of January 1st and part 2 the week of January 8th would be the best thing to happen. A good suggestion for Premiere ...

It's probably already determined. Maybe Pete knows for sure.
