"If It's A Zit"? Sound like a Weird Al Yankovic parody. He did do a different song from the Sports album-" I Want A New Duck". I guess in the court of law, Ray Parker Jr called that song "Ghost Busters". Or, since it was a parody, possibly something like "Crop Dusters".

9/24/83 is on WFMX (from Maine), for those wanting a not officially scheduled show. I wonder how they get away with that?

On this week's countdown from 9/22/84,Casey ran down the list of songs that had reached the top forty twice-He came up with a total of ten-Here are five more to add to the list:"Red Red Wine"-UB40 (1984) & (1988),"Do You Love Me"-The Contours (1962) & (1988),"Stand By Me"-Ben E.King (1961) & (1986),"Unchained Melody"-Righteous Brothers (1965) & (1990),& "Bohemian Rhapsody"-Queen (1976) & (1992).

Elton john for Levi jeans story I think Actually it was for Sasson jeans; “Sad songs say so much” easily became “Sassons say so much”, and both the original song and commercial were much heard on radio at the time. Unfortunately to my knowledge this countdown’s “Who Wears These Shoes?” was never used to sell footwear.

The Beatles' "Twist and Shout" is another addition, hitting in 1964 and 1986.

You also left out "Into the Night" by Benny Mardones (1980 and 1989). Also if you include R&R chart source for Casey's Top 40 and the second incarnation AT40: "Secret Garden" by Bruce Springsteen (1995 and 1997), "To The Moon and Back" by Savage Garden (1997 and 1998), "Candy" by Mandy Moore (1999 and 2000), and "Breathless" by the Coors (2000 and 2001); however: I don't think when Ryan Seacrest took over Casey on AT40 that 2 songs charted in 2003 and returned for the 2004 recurrent chart "Bring Me To Life" by Everessence and "In Da Club" by 50 Cent count.

There's also "Forget You" (in its radio version; originally it was "F**k You") by Cee-Lo Green, in 2010 and 2011. And a partial comeback for "Numb" by Linkin Park, originally a hit in 2004 and recharted a year later in a mashup with Jay-Z called "Numb/Encore".

The 1994 entry was a remix of the 1976 original so wasn't really the same. The same question could be asked of "Red Red Wine". The 1988 song that charted was an extended version of the 1984 original chart entry.

Prediction for next show:
10/10/87
1987 currently has the longest drought for a standalone/'A' presentation, plus it hasn't aired by itself since 2013, so odds would favor this one. 10/10/81 is a less likely choice but still a very possible one.

The same question could be asked of "Red Red Wine". The 1988 song that charted was an extended version of the 1984 original chart entry. Yes, and no - turns out the song was actually edited down for its original 1984 single release, removing the reggae toast verse from Astro that was present on the Labour of Love album. When it came back in 1988, that full-length album version was what we got. This is contrasted with situations like "December, 1963", where the second run was indeed with a "new" version that didn't exist previously.

Enjoying this 1984 show. I'm glad that they played the full album version of Prince's "Let's Go Crazy". I always thought that the single version had a sloppy edit with the intro dialogue muddled with the drums and guitar. I also enjoyed my fave Huey Lewis & The News song from the Sports album that I have nick named "If It's A Zit". I don't remember a 1984 show that began hour 2 with #32. The August 25, 1984 show did, IIRC. Yes, and also the 7/21/84 show ... with "The hits from ghost to ghost".
