Some stations alternate 70s & 80s, WSYN alternates 2019 & 2020. While this week's show is from 1985, WSYN is airing last year's show from 1986. While this week's show is from 1986, WSYN is airing last year's show from 1985.

If you don't normally look at the Billboard issues that get posted, I would recommend looking at this one. A nice section on MTV's 5 year anniversary in it. Very interesting to look at after all these years.

Very interesting to look at after all these years. During tonight's new episode of A&E's "The First 48" (probably my favorite cable network show now that Discovery's 'Gold Rush' is on hiatus), the network ran a promo for an upcoming show about the early days of MTV that will debut in August.

Is this the show that had a charting error between "Pieces Of Ice" by Diana Ross and. "It's Inevitable" by Charlie?

Is this the show that had a charting error between "Pieces Of Ice" by Diana Ross and. "It's Inevitable" by Charlie? No - that was August 13. We won't get that show, as it was guest-hosted by Keri Tombazian. This, instead, is the one show where we will get "It's Inevitable". (Which would be the case anyway - even if there had been no error, we still wouldn't get its only other week in the Top 40.)

Prediction for next show: 8/6/83 It appears to be between 1983 and 1987 and considering 1983 has had the longest drought and that 1987 was just featured as a 'B' the signs point to 1983 for the week's presentation. Very small chance we could have 8/14/82 but that one would better fit for the August 15 airing. Hmm.... I certainly hope that I didn't let the cat out of the bag with my above post...

8/06/1983 has only been played once before by Premiere, in 2015. The optional extras then were:
Hour 1 - Lindsey Buckingham "Holiday Road" Hour 2 - The Stray Cats "(She's) Sexy + 17" Hour 3 - Frank Stallone "Far From Over" Hour 4 - Elton John "Kiss the Bride"

Very interesting to look at after all these years. On the current version of AT40, Ryan honors the 39th anniversary of MTV by playing a drop of Casey introing “Video Killed the Radio Star” from 1979 which was MTV’s first video in 1981.

They should put the old videos back on MTV since none of their shows (if you can call them shows) are being filmed right now. Watching old music videos for about a year or two wouldn't hurt before they resume their hot garbage programming.
