Prediction for November 5th: A third airing of November 1, 1980.
Makes sense, since this would be from a weekend prior to Election Day 1980 and would keep with tradition. Plus we're due for 1980 very soon.

I will go with the November 7, 1987 show, last aired in 2010, for the weekend of November 5-6.

Maybe for an AT40: The 80's episode around Christmas weekend December 24-25, 2016 there could be a 1980's show with all 4 OPTIONAL EXTRAS 1980's Christmas songs (maybe for one of them throw in a medley montage of songs from famous animated TV Christmas specials - mostly Vince Guaraldi's "Christmas Time is Here" (A Charlie Brown Christmas), Burl Ives' "Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer" (Rankin-Bass Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer), Jimmy Durante's "Frosty the Snowman" (Rankin-Bass Frosty the Snowman), Thurl Ravenscroft's "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" (How the Grinch Stole Christmas), Fred Astaire's "Santa Claus is Comin' To Town" (Rankin Bass Santa Claus is Comin' to Town), The Vienna Boys Choir's "The Little Drummer Boy" (Rankin-Bass The Little Drummer Boy), Dick Shawn's The Snow Miser Song (Rankin-Bass Year Without A Santa Claus), Johnny Mathis' "Where Can I Find Christmas" (The Bear Who Slept Through Christmas), and Vince Guaraldi's "Linus and Lucy" (also from A Charlie Brown Christmas).

I am having a hunch that the 10/27/84 show is the last one we'll hear in Birmingham, AL on WMJJ - Magic 96.5 FM until after the holidays. I hope I am wrong though.... With our local Christmas Village taking place the following weekend of 11/4 - Magic 96.5 usually makes the switch to coincide with the event. I'm assuming 105.1 The River (WJDX-FM) will go all-Christmas this year. I'm also assuming the station will go all-Christmas as early as November 1. If the station does go all-Christmas, it will have wall-to-wall Christmas music until December 26. Last year, Magic 96.5 continued with Christmas music until New Year's Day. I hope they don't choose to do that this year, although New Year's Day would be Part 1 of the Year End Countdown though (if they keep with the Sunday schedule). But to get the conversation back on topic....1984 has got to be my favorite 80's year in music.

My guess for the weekend of Nov. 5, if we're taking guesses already, is ... (drumroll please) ...
...
... Nov. 8, 1986. (Would be a good show to pair with a Nov. 10, 1973 program.)
No "B" shows at this time because many AT40 affiliates switch to Christmas ... more than three weeks before Thanksgiving!

Prediction for next week's show:
1st Guess - 11/7/87 2nd Guess - 11/9/85
Going with these two shows since 1981-84 were all played during October, and I'm guessing that 1980 doesn't happen again until later on in November. That leaves 1985, '86, and '87 as the best possibilities, and the only eligible '86 show was played just two years ago. Hard to guess what Premiere is going to do as of late though...

So how many more #1 songs mentioning a dance have we had? "Macarena" comes to mind. But there may be some less known ones a la "Rock With You". I would not have come up with that one not knowing about 'the rock'. And a much more difficult question to answer. Casey says that "Lucky Star" was #1 on the dance chart a year earlier. That makes 3 songs in the top 10 that were on a Billboard chart at least a year earlier. The obvious ones being "On the Dark Side" and "I'm so Excited". So I am wondering what top 10 chart had the most songs that had been on a Billboard chart at least a year earlier. And an even more difficult question would be to include foreign charts.

Do you count the song "Point Of No Return" that hit #1 dance in 1985, and #5 pop in 1987? They are each sung by Expose, but the singers on each song are different. The instrumental backing is similar, possibly just remixed for the later version.
How about FGTH's "Relax" or DM's "People Are People?" Each cracked the Hot 100 in 1984, each hit the top 40 many months later in 1985, after they had fallen off of the Hot 100. I *think* the versions that hit the top 40 were remixed versions.
Now that reminds me of Prince's 1999, which hit the Hot 100, fell off, and then came back after LRC. Baby Come To Me by PA&JI also hit the Hot 100 twice. Hey, didn't PA's Every Home Should Have One hit the Hot 100 twice?
How about ME's I Melt With You? Was that second version a remix, or the same as the 1982/1983 version?

Unrelated, listening to the 1984 show on WWIS, and there is strong bleed over from their sister country station. It's making me laugh.

Prediction for next week's show: 1st Guess - 11/7/87 2nd Guess - 11/9/85 Matt... It looks like your second guess is correct, according to KOLA: www.kolafm.com/casey-kasem/The 11/9/85 show last aired in 2013. None of the November shows aired last year had a "B" option. Is it safe to assume this is the only option for next weekend?

Depends on when Premiere starts offering the holiday shows. They may hold off on that for one more week.

Country Music bleeding into the show on WWIS today. Yes, that's the WWIS-FM stream. It is very noticeable today. One can usually hear it, but not this loud.
