Now why would they play 8/23/80 then when it precisely fits the next weekend's dates? 8/16/80 was played two years ago, but August 1980 could have been featured in one of the next two weeks.
This tells me that there are two more shows dated later in the month. I'm guessing 8/24/85 and 8/29/81 (with two of 1983/86/87 showing up as B's).

The tribute extras for some reason have been airing as the third hour extra lately, so Love Sensation will likely be replaced by one of the other three extras listed.

"Another One Bites The Dust" was famously parodied by "Weird Al" Yankovic as "Another One Rides The Bus"-It was performed live on "The Dr.Demento Show" on KMET in Los Angeles on 9/14/80-It was eventually released on TK Records, which was the same label that KC & The Sunshine Band recorded for.

What did Larry Morgan said about Aug 3, 1985 optional extra 4 for Madonna - Dress You Up? I tried to listen KOSF fm but didn't air opt xtra4. He mentioned other #1s: #1 Rock - Money For Nothing - Dire Straits #1 Adult Contemporary - Who's Holding Donna Now - DeBarge #1 12" Singles - Angel/Into The Groove - Madonna Coming out of the song, he said it was 2 weeks away from hitting the countdown.

"Dress You Up" would debut on AT40 2 weeks later on 8/17/1985, and 8/10/1985 was a Charlie Van Dyke guest hosted AT40.

Into the groove i thought was never released as a single? therefore never hit at40. It was only released, at that time, as part of the 12" single mentioned above. Since it wasn't an individual 7" single, it couldn't make the Hot 100 under Billboard's rules at the time. Which of course didn't stop it and its video from getting a lot of play, enough for it to hit the top 10 in Radio & Records.

Looking at the chart for the August 7, 1982 show and I'm reminded that time was awesome for music. Pick any season from any year during the 1980s and, in my opinion, Summer '82 tops them all. Setting time aside to enjoy this one again. That's why I shake my head with this speculation that since radio has changed, the early 80s shows need to be phased out (or the early 70s in that series). So the solution is play 1987 once a month (or more butchered 1978s)?? I'm not sure how that makes the show better or more palatable.

It may be that certain years suddenly become more interesting and are therefore used more frequently. But strictly speaking, every year has its merits to a greater or lesser extent, and there will always be fans who tend to prefer one year over another. Two years ago, a show from 1982 (7/24/82) was used before one of my favorite shows (7/21/84). Of course, I was a little disappointed at first. But I still listened to the show from 7/24/82 and enjoyed it. And then, finally, my favorite, 7/21/84, was played last year.

Is it me, or were there no commercial breaks during the first half hour of the show on the WWIS broadcast of the show?

Is it me, or were there no commercial breaks during the first half hour of the show? Doesn't Premiere offer the first hour commercial free to affiliates? Or is that just for the 4 hour 1978-1979 shows? Perhaps the station you heard it on has a lighter commercial load. The recent 7/25/1987 show had a H1S1 that ran over 23 (almost 24) minutes a couple weeks back. That's probably one of the longest such segments for a 1980's show.

Sorry - I forgot to specify that the show I'm listening to the show on is WWIS, a station that many people listen to it on (most likely because it's the first station to play it).
