On last week's 1982 show Casey said McCartney was twelve short of catching Bing Crosby's 63 top tenner record and his pursuit showed no signs of slowing down. 40 years later and Paul has only scored a handful of additional top tenners.
On the same show Casey said Summer had an explosive top tenner average 12 outta sixteen top 40s. Donna would only reach the top ten a couple more times.

On AT40: The 70's 9/29/1973 there were 2 guesses for #1 the next week: "Let's Get It On" by Marvin Gaye returning to #1 and "We're An American Band" by Grand Funk remaining at #1. But the next week on 10/6/1973 "Half Breed" by Cher moved into the #1 spot, even though that week there was an AT40 Special.

On AT40: The 80's 10/3/1987: Casey mentioned "One Heartbeat" by Smokey Robinson is Smokey's 8th. top 10 overall including Smokey's hits with the Miracles - and Smokey's fourth top 10 solo. But after that, Smokey would never make the AT40 reaches again.

On AT40: The 80's 10/6/1984 for the #40 song "The Last Time I Made Love" by Joyce Kennedy and Jeffrey Osbourne, Casey said it was their first time together, but even though Joyce never made AT40 again, Jeffrey would hit AT40 3 more times.

On last week's 1981 show Casey said General Hospi-Tale was based on one of the most popular shows on TV at 12m+ daily viewers. In 2022, that number is down to 2m. How things have changed, only one or two prime time programs still cross the 12m mark.

CBS has two, "The Young and the Restless"/"The Bold and the Beautiful", NBC has none. Over-the-air, not streaming, which I don't really care about and don't pay for.

Casey says in the rebroadcast of the show heard on SiriusXM this week end that Yo-Yo by the Osmonds (which is at #3) looks to be headed to #1. It didn't happen in Billboard or Cash Box--but the song did reach #1 (for two weeks) in Record World (wonder if Casey glanced at that magazine).

There has been no rival AT40 show that used the Record World pop charts (Though some AT40 rivals used Cashbox and R&R).

Humble Harve had the National Album Countdown, which used the Record World Top 30 from the Album chart--from 1976 through 1985. And I forgot to mention there was one AT40 rival that used the Gavin Report pop chart - Dave Sholin's Insider (1990-1991).

Humble Harve had the National Album Countdown, which used the Record World Top 30 from the Album chart--from 1976 through 1985. Record World folded in April 1982 (as us Fox Oldies listeners know), so Harve must've used a different source after that.

Casey says that Marie Osmond looks to be headed to #1 with Paper Roses on the show rebroadcast on SiriusXM, while the song was at #5 (which is where it peaked).
The show was from 11-3-1973.

On 10/30/71, Casey said of Al Green's "Tired of Being Alone" that it had been on the countdown for 11 weeks and "it's just inching its way up the survey toward the top 10". It just missed that winners' circle, peaking at #11--but "Memphis Al" (as Casey often referred to him) did make the top 10 seven times over the next few years.
