On the 2-14-76 show Casey said that Elton John was probably headed toward another Number one, while playing Grow Some Funk Of Your Own at #17. Hindsight 20/20, but for me that song never sounded like a potential #1.

A bit off topic for this thread, but by "upcoming" do you mean that Premiere will air it this year, or just that it's possible that it might be played sometime in March? They last aired 3/13/76 in 2014 so it's a possibility.

I am guessing 3/5/1977 for the first weekend of March 2021 and 3/13/1976 for the second weekend in March 2021.

On the 2/18/84 show, Casey mentions during the intro to "The Language of Love" that Dan Fogelberg had made the Top 40 with all 11 of his charting singles. His next one, "Believe In Me," would break the streak. In fact, Fogelberg never made the Top 40 again. On the same show Casey introing Gambler's This Woman said Barry Gibb was rarely off the charts as a producer/ songwriter. Other than his own Shine x 2 which grazed the bottom of the top 40 later that year, I don't recall Barry reaching the top 40 again until One in 1989. It's too bad "You Win Again" never made the top 40 in 1987. That's one of my favourite Bee Gees songs overall.

The Bee Gees also didn't make AT40 territory in 1993 with "Paying the Price of Love" and in 1994 with "For Whom The Bell Tolls".

On the '79 show, Casey didn't do Hot Chocolate any favors. Even veteran hitmaker Mickey Most wouldn't be able to give them another hit. The sudden collapse of Infinity Records later that year didn't help either. Ditto for Orleans.

On this week's 1979 show Casey said #2 Pointer Sisters "might not be done climbing yet". Fire would freeze right there.

On this week's 1988 show Commentary Casey said Prince's single had a hot B side as Hot Thing was at #63 and moving. It would freeze right there.

On this week's 1979 show Casey said Chicago was still one of the hottest bands around. Their chart career went into the deep freeze with no more top 40 hits for over three years.

Reverse jinx: On last week's 1979 show Casey said keep an eye on BeeGees. The way Tragedy was moving it definitely looked like a #1. It would soon become Brothers 5th straight chart topper.

Yes, that was a 'no-brainer'. It would be the next single that would require some 'funny business' to keep their (and RSO's) #1 streak intact.

In a reverse jinx on last week's 1974 show Casey said Cher looked headed for #1 or at least a top tenner. There was nothing dark about 'Lady as it reached the top.

On 2/23/80, Casey said "Every record Andy Gibb has charted has gone into the top 10", leading into "Desire", at #8--which would be the last one.
