Other than radio shows I'm not a big listener to local radio. I've tried, but it never worked when I was younger and it sure doesn't now. I turn On Air on at 1 and WFLZ is in some commercial free block not even acknowledging the show is supposed to be on right now. Then finally Ryan starts talking about 20-25 past the hour. Now, sometime after the 2pm hour they played Rolling in the Deep. Not one or two segments later they played Someone Like You. The same artist less than a half hour apart?! Oh, but it gets better. Just before 3, they played the Maroon 5/Christina song, then a commercial. I get up to go to the restroom, I come back and the SAME SONG IS PLAYING AGAIN!!!!! Apparently it was #5 on whatever this AT 5 thing is. Now at #1 it's Someone Like You. So 3 times I've heard Adele in the last hour.
So now this begs the question, is THIS normal for radio these days? Does FLZ just suck? Do stations get a song list of what this AT5 is going to be? Or do they just get a friggin file at the last second? If they know ahead of time this is really stupid!
Oh great, this is the second or third Britney Spears song I've heard in the last hour or two.I am beginning to feel sorry for people who only know radio like this!
