11/23 makes little sense. 11/30 would've fit the air dates perfectly. Maybe SiriusXM will feature 11/30/74 this weekend? While SiriusXM and Premiere may occasionally feature the same year on the same weekend, it's rare that both feature the same show on a given weekend. The last '74 show played by SiriusXM was 10/19/74 which was about 6 weeks ago... so 11/30/74 could be featured. Just an idea.

Option Extra history for 11/23/1974: 11/23/1974 2013/2019 Hr 1: Dark Horse - George Harrison 11/23/1974 2013/2019 Hr 2: Only You - Ringo Starr 11/23/1974 2013/2019 Hr 3: Dancin' Fool - The Guess Who 11/23 makes little sense. 11/30 would've fit the air dates perfectly. Don’t be too discouraged. The 11/23/74 show offers plenty of chart action including 7 debuts. Plus, Elton John fell out of the Top 40 this week so there’s no further discussion about ‘b—ch’ editing.

A hit is at its lowest chart position on AT40 not in its first or last week but in its 7th week on. "You Ain't Seen Nothin Yet" dropped to #34 only to rebound back into the top 10 the following week. FYI, it's next lowest chart position on AT40 was #22. It was lower than that in its first week(#28) and last week(#23) in the top 40 but both of those weeks a special aired.

(to quote 'South Park') moves of the entire Wardlow era.

Shenanigans aside, the big drops from #1 which happened one last time on this week's show with John Lennon dropping to 12 maybe made Wardlow realize that all these big drops not only from #1 were ridiculous. Full disclosure...the recession then was given as the reason for the big drops. So the 11/30/74 chart was somewhat of a restoring of order with that BTO rebound and more reasonable drops from #1.

In the category of "Billboard Printing Errors"...
Note that the Hot 100 chart for November 23, 1974 is dated November 16, 1974.

We just got some hint that this weekend's AT40: The 70's show for the November 30-December 1, 2024 weekend is from November 23, 1974. 1977 gets the shaft again. Maybe in December we might get 12/17/1977 last played in 2018? 12-10-77 could be played weekend of 12-7-24. Last played in 2021, since it is overdue. 12-3-77 won't be played since it was guest hosted.

Weekend of December 14-15, 2024 - December 11, 1971 - I was hoping for December 4, 1971 the first full weekend of December 1971! Weekend of December 21-22, 2024 - December 19, 1970 - where I hope "So Close" is replaced by "Love the One You With" and "So Close" is the OPTIONAL EXTRA (Maybe throw in for an OPTIONAL EXTRA Blues Image's "Ride Captain Ride" to honor a member of the group who died recently) The last weekend of December 2024 and first weekend of January 2025 - The Top 80 of 1973 (A show, with #80-#41 created by Ken Martin) and the Top 100 of 1976 (B show)

Or they could have waited until next weekend for 12/7/1974, not played by Premiere since 2016, that also fits.

I'll go with 12/5/70 over 12/11/71 for next weekend. 12/5/70 was last aired by Premiere in 2015. The 1971 show last aired in 2014.
