Man, they must LOVE 1976 at Premiere! Brian That's A and B shows. 4/10 and 6/5/76 were B's, so the majority of stations didn't play them. Same goes for 4/3/71, 2/17/73, 6/8/74, 2/1/75, and 2/22/75. Well, still for the stations that did play the B shows each time when it was 1976 … . Brian

Now that we're about halfway through 2014, here's how the regular weekly 70s shows stack up year by year: 1971- 3 (1/30, 4/03, 5/22) 1972- 3 (2/26, 4/08, 6/03) 1973- 3 (2/17, 3/10, 5/12) 1974- 3 (1/19, 4/27, 6/08) 1975- 4 (2/01, 2/22, 3/29, 6/14) 1976- 6 (1/10, 3/13, 4/10, 5/01, 6/05, 6/26) 1977- 3 (2/05, 3/26, 5/07) 1978- 4 (1/21, 3/04, 4/15, 6/24) 1979- 3 (2/17, 3/31, 6/02) You almost have to separate out the A and the B shows--the A shows are probably the more accurate representation of how the years were distributed, and are what 80-90% of the subscribing stations play. The B shows are really just an alternate show offered for stations that wouldn't play the A show offering. If so, the A show count would be: 1971- 2 (1/30, 5/22) 1972- 2 (2/26, 4/08, 6/03) 1973- 2 (3/10, 5/12) 1974- 2 (1/19, 4/27) 1975- 3 (Top 100 Part 2, 3/29, 6/14) 1976- 4 (1/10, 3/13, 5/01, 6/26) 1977- 3 (2/05, 3/26, 5/07) 1978- 4 (1/21, 3/04, 4/15, 6/24) 1979- 3 (2/17, 3/31, 6/02) Notice that it's not quite as uneven if you look at only the A's. Premiere certainly does seem to be moving more toward playing shows from the latter half of the decade now though. IMO, they deserve credit however, for figuring out a way to keep the early 70's shows as a viable option. I know some might disagree with including the 2nd half of the 1975 Top 100, but Premiere always seems to play one less regular show for the year that has the Top 100 special at the holidays for both the preceding fall and the following spring; if you count part 1 of the Top 100 with the fall, and part 2 of the Top 100 with the spring, it usually evens out with the other years in the decade (a weird exception is 1981, which got three regular shows in the first half of 2014 in addition to the 2nd half of the year-end Top 100). Also, it is still strange to me that Premiere played the 6/3/72 as the A show and the 6/8/74 as the B show for the weekend of June 7-8, 2014. Seems like it should have been swapped, but that's why 1972 got counted 3 times instead of 2.

KOOL has the 6/26/76 playlist posted. No one guessed more than one OE correct:
* Hour #1: "A Little Bit More" by Dr. Hook * Hour #2: "Something He Can Feel" by Aretha Franklin * Hour #3: "Play That Funky Music" by Wild Cherry

Is umdmusic gone for good? Couldn't get on the site today or yesterday. Same thing happened last week. That's why I can't make any picks.

UMD Music hasn't worked for me in awhile but www.old-charts.com works for me... but beware of pop-up ads on that site. The ads are not a nuisance using Chrome but they are using IE.

If I'm not mistaken,"Something He Can Feel" was also a hit for En Vogue in 1992.

It wouldn't surprise me if the site came back up in the next several days. Hopefully they aren't gone for good though...that would be disappointing.

Prediction for next week's show:
1st Guess: 7/11/70 (chart date - i.e. first ever show) 2nd Guess: 7/3/71
It would only make too much sense for Premiere to air the very first show the first weekend in July. I will be quite surprised if it's not...

Thanks for the info. I had occasionally used that site in the past, but had forgotten it over time since using the UMD.

It would only make too much sense for Premiere to air the very first show the first weekend in July. I will be quite surprised if it's not... Scott has confirmed that it's part of the tribute package being offered to stations. In other words, they can air it whenever they'd like for a certain amount of time, probably through July 4th weekend.
