Just as I hearing via the WVLI Kankakee broadcast, but it wasn't related to a show listener question to me. You're right, it was just a 'whatever happened to Gerry Goffin?' question in the original show, but not a question from a listener. The song wasn't played in the original show. All per Pete's book. In the original AT40 4/17/1976 show, where was the "Whatever happened to Gerry Goffin?" segment originally located?

"Get Up & Boogie" by Silver Convention was one of the seven debut songs from this week's presentation from 4/17/76-It peaked at # 2 for three weeks in June 1976-It was kept from # 1 by the song that we heard before that one:"Silly Love Songs" by Paul Mc Cartney & Wings.

The optional extra play of "Mahogany" was apparently the same thing as we've heard in some other 70s shows where Casey gave "where are they now?" type updates on artists with relevant songs added in by Premiere that weren't there before, except this was about a songwriter and not a singer or group.
Incidentally, after the song was played Casey noted that Goffin co-wrote four songs on his ex-wife and writing partner Carole King's then-current album, titled Thoroughbred. A single from that album, "Only Love Is Real" (not co-written by Goffin) fell off AT40 on 4/17/76.

for a 1976 show, around 11:54am when I listened WPNC #34, so it might have started 11:30am.. weird 12 foreign acts also maybe I could try WVWP for that 3pm est closing jingle now uses shuckatoom instead. 4/17/76 also has Casey explaining how Henry Gross' "Shannon" was a tribute to a dead dog. And while we all know what happened in 1985, in 1976 Casey referred to the song as a "pretty ballad". ("Shannon" that week followed the Eagles' "Take It To the Limit", not an uptempo g--d--- number.)

Just hear it again this morning on KDRI Tucson. It's there, believe me. Why is this such a big deal to you?

On AT40: The 70's 4/17/1976: Casey answered a question letter about top 40 acts beginning with the letter "Z" - There were 7 up to 1976, Florian Zabach, Ricky Zahn, Helmut Zacarias, John "The Cool Ghoul" Zacharie, the Zombies, Zager and Evans, and ZZ Top. Post 1976 came these Z acts: Warren Zevon, Michael Zager Band, Pia Zadora, and Zhane. Although Casey never mentioned the Zodiacs even though they were the backing band for Maurice "Stay" Williams. More recently, there’s been Zendaya and Zayn. Plea Zedd has has two #1s in the last few years.

I'll go with 4/22/78 over 4/26/75 for next weekend. The show last aired as an A show in 2015. 1975 is due. If 4/26/75 is the A show, I believe 4/22/78 will be the B show. I thought Premiere would hold 4/25/75 for the last weekend of April. Maybe 5/1/71 (last weekend of April) & 5/5/79 (first weekend of May) are good possibilities looking ahead. That would close out years that haven't been featured as A shows since February, This will be the second time this month that Premiere features two shows that aired on XM last year. 4/13/73 & 4/9/77 aired the weekend of April 8.

There goes the chance for 5/3/1975 to be played this 2023 year! Maybe next year in 2024?

To state the obvious a 5 1/2 minute Steinman song already cut down to a 4 minute single doesn't make for a good three minute Premiere extra. Just this last week we had the Manhattans "Kiss And Say Goodbye" clock in at about 2:30 as an Optional Extra... and that was even in the Supersized version. The single edit is a minute longer. Steinman song or not, it's been the extra for the last few airings. I just didn't know if we had another 'Death Dedication' situation or just an 'arbitrary Premiere switcheroo'

Any chance of 4/26/75 being supersized this weekend by WTOJ?

I think it would have been better off for 4/26/1975 to be played as a standalone show this coming weekend, followed by 4/29/1978 the following weekend, since that would have been due as it hasn't been played since 2016 (and 2013 as a standalone) for the latter. Of course with the schedule right now, Premiere can't do 1975 standalone shows outside of the holiday season but maybe it could be revisited for next year.
They could have also chosen 4/29/1978 that coming weekend if Premiere wanted to go that route to separate it by a week and then either backtrack to 4/26/1975 or go to 5/3/1975... but maybe those dates could be selected for next year.
