so wpnc, I missed a little (first hour)3 wks away: I'm your boogie man opt xtra1. Ill go WVWP 3pm Mar 12, 1977, 11 English acts Say You'll Stay Until Tomorrow, former #1 country I even heard Casey mention for the #37 debut of "Disco Lucy" that Lucille Ball is the longest prime time TV star with consecutive TV series from 1951 to 1974 ("I Love Lucy", "The Lucy Show", and "Here's Lucy"; though in 1986 Lucille Ball attempted a comeback with "Life With Lucy" but it only lasted several weeks). Not quite 'consecutive'. "I Love Lucy" ended its weekly run on CBS at the conclusion of the 1956-57 TV season (fall through spring, with summer reruns). Starting in the fall of '57 there were 13 hour-long episodes of "The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour" that ran until 1960. These were the 'specials' that Casey mentioned. Then a two-year hiatus until the fall 1962 premiere of "The Lucy Show" (no more Desi, as the couple had divorced). CBS had continued to run "I Love Lucy" reruns at various times of the day during this period. Lucy's prime-time sitcom was revamped as "Here's Lucy" in the fall of 1968, and now starred both Lucy and her son and daughter Lucie and Desi Arnaz Jr. Desi Jr. left the show after a couple of seasons but Lucie Arnaz continued to co-star with her Mom through the final 1973-74 season.

Thank you. So glad you enjoyed my work. Most butchered show to date? I set my listening device to end at :31 past the hr and it still cut off the final minute of the ending credits! Don't know if it was the MOST butchered, but "Year Of the Cat" was more like "A Few Weeks Of the Cat". Just finished hearing the 'butchered' version on 'The Drive'. SO many song edits.

Any word on this coming weekend's AT40: The 70's show yet? Could it be 4/1/1972 - 1 weekend before April Fool's weekend?

That would be odd to play an A show a week before the exact date that it matches up with, in this case 4/1.

What would the B show be? Maybe 3/31/1979? I guess 1972 won't be until April 2023 - 4/1/1972 for 4/1/2023 weekend hopefully...

What would the B show be? Maybe 3/31/1979? I hope not because 3/31/1979 was the A show this week last year. 3/24/1979 & 3/27/1976, which aired in 2019 & 3/25/1978 (2021) would seem like better options.

I wonder what the cutoff for supersizing is. I always thought that songs were starting to be edited sometime in 1975.

There have been a couple supersized shows going back as far as 1973 and 1974. It likely depends on exactly what songs were on any given countdown, if there were a lot of extras played on any given week, etc. I wouldn't expect too many shows 'need' to be supersized prior to, say mid 1975 or so.

It was this week in 1975 that AT40 started to play extras on a more regular basis on the 3/22/75 show. After the 8/26/72 show, they only played extras on 2 shows in 1973 and 3 shows in 1974 and those 1974 shows featured a skipped song because there were 2 versions of "The Americans".
