KWVF The Wolf in Northern Calif just played the Hour 2 extra (Carole King) and it appears they have moved the show up to 7am Pacific from its usual 9am start. Bummer. Trying to find out if this was permanent or just computer screw-up.

"And here's a 'how-do-you-do'!" I always remembered Casey saying that as he segued from Mouth & MacNeil to Looking Glass.

Turbo Casey must have really been digging the tunes this week in 1979. I don't recall another show where he had more energy.

Regarding 7/14/1979: * Did the ban on an Oklahoma city disco dancing inspire the movie "Footloose"? Yes, I heard that it did. Not Henryetta (correct spelling), population around 6,000, but tiny little Elmore City OK, 2010 pop. 697. Dancing had been banned since the town's 1898 founding, and the ban wasn't rescinded until 1980! See 'film inspiration' below: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Footloose_(1984_film)

Can't decide which is a worse lyrical phrase: "skippedy-doo-dah-day" or "Bojangle clock".

Can't decide which is a worse lyrical phrase: "skippedy-doo-dah-day" or "Bojangle clock". Yes! Or should I say 'Yesh!" While I like a lot of '70s C&W, Ms. Fargo's two pop crossover hits are not among them. What grates on me is her pronouncing the 's'/soft 'c' sound as 'sh', quite noticeable in her follow up, "Funny Face" ('Fashe'). I've noticed that Reba does the same on her recordings, so it's probably not a dialect quirk, as one is from OK and the other from NC.

Did you catch the mistake on the first hour of 7/14/1979 that Casey mentioned Joe Jackson's "Is She Really Going Out With Him" as a debut when it debuted the previous week (the same week AT40 had the Top 40 Disco Songs special)? However, in Cleveland on WGCL Cleveland on the fake AT40 show with Townsend Coleman doing it in place of the Top 40 Disco Songs special on 7/7/1979 it was mentioned by Townsend as a debut!

Funnily enuf I liked her "You can't be a Beacon (If Your Light Don't Shine)" so of course it didn't make the Top 40. I always wondered if the orig lyric was "zip-a-dee-doo-dah day" and they changed it because they were afraid Disney might sue
