Well, at least it sounds good over-the-air >shrug< Sometimes WTOJ's internet stream tends to crap out at the worst times.

Well so much for the first hour. Stream keeps petering out. What was I saying about having a backup? SOS Ken!! It appears that Spectrum threw a hissy fit this morning. I've rebooted in hopes it will fix the problem.

I'll go with July 14, 1979 for next weekend.

That would be a reverse from what Sirius XM does--lately XM follows Premiere, but if 1979 did occur it would be one where Premiere follows XM.

I'll go with 7/14/79 as well-I'm thinking it will be paired with a second show.

If Premiere airs the very first show,I wonder if the Bill Cosby song "Little Ol' Man" will stay in the broadcast.

I think if Premiere were going to offer the first show, they would have done it this weekend. Then again, with the wonky dating convention (chart date vs. air date) of the first years worth of shows, who knows.

Then again, with the wonky dating convention (chart date vs. air date) of the first years worth of shows, who knows. Casey's first AT40 show is one of many bonus programs available from Premiere this weekend. But outside of WPNC, finding an affiliate's scheduled broadcast may be difficult. If Premiere airs the very first show, I wonder if the Bill Cosby song "Little Ol' Man" will stay in the broadcast. According to the cue sheets, Bill Cosby's extra remains in the program.

According to the cue sheets, Bill Cosby's extra remains in the program. As it should, IMO.

1978 was the B show last week. 1977 should be next week's show since it hasn't been the A show in 3 months. July 14, 1979 could be the B show. You could see July 23, 1977, July 27, 1974 & July 28, 1979 as the A shows to finish up the month of July.

According to the cue sheets, Bill Cosby's extra remains in the program. As it should, IMO. Yeah, we agree, I've always liked "Little Ole Man (Uptight, Everything's Alright)" by Bill Cosby, my Dad told me about it over 30 years ago, he found a copy to play, then 20 years later, I was ecstatic when I'd found out that the song had been an Oldie on American Top 40's first ever countdown show with Casey Kasem! Fun Facts "Little Ole Man (Uptight, Everything's Alright)" is the debut single by comedian Bill Cosby, released in 1967 from the entertainer's first musical comedy album, Silver Throat: Bill Cosby Sings. On the 1968 album 200 M.P.H., Cosby states that the song was dedicated to his grandfather. A comedic parody which Cosby narrated about "a little ole man" whom he discovers three times, first getting hit by a train, later being run over by elephants, and lastly having no recollection of either incident. The musical instrumental, chorus, and accompanying background vocals were a direct lift of the Stevie Wonder 1965 song "Uptight (Everything's Alright)", which had been a recent hit, and the authorship of "Little Ole Man" is credited solely to the authors of "Uptight". "Uptight" co-author Henry Cosby has no relation to Bill Cosby. The single became an unexpected hit for Cosby, charting as high as number four on the Billboard Hot 100. Bill Cosby one of the first comedians to have a charted hit single on the Billboard music charts. Fellow comics like Steve Martin and parody musician "Weird Al" Yankovic later followed him on the Billboard charts with their comedy records. "This is Casey on AT40 and here it is, the first chart record, by a singer who worked 17 years ago in Philadelphia with another young entertainer, a comedian, who has become a very big star and has been one of the biggest stars in comedy, for the past several years, the singer couldn't be happier that his old buddy made good, but what gets him is, the comic had a hit song on the charts, 5 years before the singer had a hit, that was in 1967 when a song called, Little Ole Man, hit #4, the artist was, Bill Cosby, this week, the singer who worked with Cosby 17 years ago at the Media Athletic Club in Philadelphia, moves up to #6 with his first chart record, a very fast climbing hit called, Me and Mrs. Jones, here's Billy Paul..." - Casey Kasem's American Top 40 from December 9th, 1972
