WXXM Rewind 92.1 is now airing this Saturday morning the June 18, 1977 AT40: The 70's B show.
Later today I can catch the A show of AT40: The 70's for June 14, 1975 - where I can find out how Casey's and Larry Morgan's talk about Sgt. Sadler ("Ballad of the Green Berets") mix in for an OPTIONAL EXTRA.
June 18, 1977 has something Casey talks about Alice Cooper and his horror side (and mentions Cooper won't switch to a softer side even to tie in with the #37 Alice Cooper rock ballad "You and Me").

1975 is now airing on WPNC fm
snippet played The Ballad of Green Berets which was #1 in 1966 (interesting enough 2 weeks ago if I recall when AT40 aired 1981, they aired the whole song as archive), Larry Morgan at end give update on Barry Sadler, after 1975.., he passed away in 1989
note: comedy team musical never made #1, but highest was peaked #9 in 1974 and that was Earache My Heartache, by Cheech and Chong

One thing about this weeks A and B shows: 6/14/1975 features Jessi Colter with "I'm Not Lisa" and 6/18/1977 features Jessi's husband Waylon Jennings with "Luckenbach, Texas".

One thing about this weeks A and B shows: 7/14/1975 features Jessi Colter with "I'm Not Lisa" and 7/18/1977 features Jessi's husband Waylon Jennings with "Luckenbach, Texas". Wow, is it July already? Where'd Independence Day go? 🤔

(A Letter From Camp".

That's cool - perhaps the message I sent them on their FB page paid off. Then again, it could be strictly coincidence. Either way, I can once again listen to their show at my leisure during the week rather than to cram three into one somewhat busy weekend.

In 1975 Barry Sadler released a single called "Bless Them All" that flopped.

And Casey mentions in the 1977 show that Jessi had a hit 2 years earlier. This is one of those rare occasions where a Casey comment ties in the A and B shows of the week.

The second presentation being offered this weekend is from 6/18/77-I had just graduated from high school & those songs certainly bring back a boatload of memories.

It turns out that "The Ballad Of The Green Berets" was played in its entirety at the end of hour 2 from this weekend's "A" show presentation of 6/14/75-Both Casey & Larry Morgan did an update on the artist who was Staff Sergeant Barry Sadler.

Not on the station I heard yesterday. Maybe in the supersized WTOJ version?

That was JUST on WTOJ part of the Supersizing of the show.. All others just played a piece of the song like Casey did in the original show from 1975. Of course, the Larry part talking about what happened to Sadler at the end was new. The "What Ever Happened To..." segments are kinda outdated and in need of updates.

Too bad you couldn't have squeezed in the 1977 show, too, Ken. THAT show, if any, would have been a good candidate for supersizing. The Addrisi Brothers song was under 2 minutes, for example.
