Now here comes another commercial block. They have seldom made errors such as this. I expect from iHeart or Audacy or other corporate-owned stations on autopilot but not locally-owned ones.

I hear the Doobie with "Long Tain Runnin." I'd settle for a replay of 5/26/73 from last year. This song entered the countdown that day.

Now here comes another commercial block. They have seldom made errors such as this. I expect from iHeart or Audacy or other corporate-owned stations on autopilot but not locally-owned ones. Computer problems, lack of quality control and no one caring about how they sound happens at the locally owned ones just as much as corporate owned stations. Update:The show that follows AT40 is now on KLFM. It's not live,it's been voice tracked before hand.

Something's up with KLFM--nothing but ads since the top of the hour, when AT40 usually starts. Monitoring. It's like they didn't program the AT40 segments into the hour. It's just commercials and jingles and now a Larry Morgan voiced, non Premier extra that KLFM plays from time to time. I guess we've gone through all of the local ads and non-Premiere extras, as now KLFM is running other regular programming. I think it's the show that normally follows AT40.

Any Beatle fans out there? This week's 70s shows each have 3 songs by solo Beatles in the show plus the 1971 show has 2 Beatle songs covered. It also this comment by Casey that 'with the Beatles at least temporarily inactive' in the story about the Stones. That is one of many comments he made in the early 70s alluding to the Beatles breakup not being final or wondering if and when they will get back together. Interesting that the AT40 staff had that mindset. One of those 3 Beatles hits in the 1979 show is a #1 archive song. You know all the Beatles had their final weeks at #1 in January. For Ringo, it was 1/26/74; for John it was 1/24/81; for Paul it was 1/14/84; for George it was 1/16/88. Of course it was in January that they exploded on the American music scene in 1964. Now here comes another commercial block. They have seldom made errors such as this. I expect from iHeart or Audacy or other corporate-owned stations on autopilot but not locally-owned ones. Right after reading this, I tuned in to hear a jazzy cover of "Can't Buy Me Love." This is quite a coincidence, as well as a nice consolation prize for missing the B show tonight.

Just before 10:45 eastern time,it's now AT31 on KLFM. I can just picture some 'bloke' having their lazy Saturday afternoon disturbed by having to rush over to the station (in their Holden 'Ute', possibly ) to fix things...

Oh, the tragedy. We were deprived of hearing the musical masterpiece that is "The Battle Hymn of Lt. Calley" Meanwhile, hours 2 and 3 each have 15 songs, with two and one of them, respectively, being extras. In 1971 probably not too much editing was needed, but last night Sirius XM played a November 1976 countdown with 15 songs in the first hour (#40-27 plus an extra), and the resulting listening experience may have been one of those which helped inspire Ken Martin to create "supersized" shows.

Oh, the tragedy. We were deprived of hearing the musical masterpiece that is "The Battle Hymn of Lt. Calley" True, but right after that we also missed the final top 40 appearance by the then-27-year-old fading 'teen idol' Bobby Sherman! On Facebook, a commenter said that he was looking forward to hearing Miss Ross' rarely heard remake of "Reach Out I'll Be There". Hopefully he didn't give up on KLFM and miss it, as it was the first song played.

WXXM Rewind 92.1 FM Madison, Wisconsin right now is airing on AT40: The 70's Saturday morning the B show of 5/15/1971.
I can check later today the B show of 5/11/1979 (starting with hour #2) via WVLI Kankakee, Illinois
At least the #40 song of "Battle Hymn of Lt. Calley" by C Company and Terry Nelson from 1971 isn't that bad. You wouldn't reboot this song even in the Ukraine/Russia conflict.
As for Bobby Sherman at #39 with his final top 40 hit "The Drum", he will still hit the Hot 100 a few more times ending in 1972 then hit the Billboard Easy Listening AC chart once more in 1975.

Actually that's now available all week. Their AT40 podcast is now four hours no matter how long the show is. When it's a three hour show you have to move to the 1:00:00 mark to get to the show.

Wonder if Ken Martin is doing a supersized version of 5/12/79.
