So only the WTOJ Supersized version for this 5/14/1977 AT40: The 70's show will get for a bonus OPTIONAL EXTRA the "Theme From Shaft" original AT40 extra. That is correct. I didn't notice the error until this week and since I don't work for Premiere it was too late in the game to get it changed.

Just noticed that on the '77 show, even though "Undercover Angel" was only in it's 2nd week and was a big mover, the second verse was still cut out.

According to the original 5/14/1977 AT40 Watermark version, what is the story behind Issac Hayes' "Theme From Shaft" about in Casey's words before the song was played? According to the left in AT40: The 70's version teaser, it was about Mr. Hayes dealing with being dirt poor to superstar rich and dealing with a bankruptcy.
Also, what is the "Jamie" story on the original 5/14/1977 AT40 Watermark version omitted in the AT40: The 70's version about?
Both are restored in the Ken Martin WTOJ Supersized version of 5/14/1977.

OTOH, "Margaritaville" was mercifully shortened I seem to remember that it usually was. Usually the 45 version was played, not the better known album version with the instrumental break. But even the single at least had three verses and choruses, while this particular AT40 broadcast only had two. Still, given the song's long-time ubiquity, it being cut down here isn't any great loss.

Cliff DeYoung Of course, DeYoung's version was a cover of Denver's original. In '77 Denver re-recorded it for his Greatest Hits, Vol 2 LP and RCA decided to release it as a single. Either of his versions is preferable to DeYoung's (a better actor than a singer).

I finally found a station carrying the 1978 Mark Elliott Special. KOZI from Whelan, WA. This show began airing at 6:00 p.m.(CST) or 4:00 p.m. (PST). According to the Station entry on the current AT40 Stations 1970's list this show will be replayed tomorrow at the same time.

(Unfortunately I missed most of the first hour, but apparently we get a second shot at it tomorrow.) KOZI is kind of a surprise: it's gone with B shows from the late 70s before, but this week's Casey offering was from just a year earlier. And it's worth reiterating that KZOY will play Mark's 80s show tomorrow at 1 PM Eastern.

Yep. I only get to hear that song EVERY NIGHT at work on KGOR along with the ever present "Hotel California". At least neither song was played during my root canal procedure yesterday.
