I'll make two sets of predictions for the OE's: The set I think we'll hear and the set I would prefer. What I think we'll hear: "Feelings" "When Will I Be Loved" "Run Joey Run" My preferences: "Black Superman/Muhammad Ali" "When Will I Be Loved" "Solitaire" If the first set is completely correct I'll probably listen to the show on a station that doesn't play the OE's and then scope the PAC-cast at my leisure for Linda. I noticed that 7/29/78 and 7/25/81 (which was the "A" show) had practically the same listener question. The 1981 show has a question about songs that hit the Top 40 on two different chart runs as opposed to the 1978 question that was specifically about hitting the Top 40 and then coming back to hit #1. Just curious why you think "When Will I Be Loved" will be an extra. The song had fallen out of the 40 the previous week, from #23 to #73. The reason it rebounded on the 8/2 chart is due to it's flip side, "It Doesn't Matter Anymore", getting some pop airplay (It had already charted on the Country singles chart). The song would continue rebounding for two more weeks, to #51 and then #47, before falling off of the Hot 100. You're right, wasn't reading carefully enough. When I'm guessing the OE's (I still guess them to myself every week before seeing if anyone posted the previous airing's set since I can't remember the extras from a specific show that was played several years ago) I just look on UMD for songs that are between 40-100, moving up and made the Top 40. In this case I saw WWIBL had moved up and didn't notice that it had already fallen out of the Top 40. And as to dth1971 mentioning Peter Green Fleetwood Mac hit the Hot 100 once while he was in the group. It wasn't the pb mentioned Albatross, but a song called Oh Well (Part 1). It peaked at #55 in early 1970 so the only legitimate way to honor Mr. Green would be to play it as a curveball OE on the next 1970 show.

Yes although the version I've heard most often on the radio in recent years is from Fleetwood Mac's early 80's live album with Lindsey Buckingham on vocals. Of course, Peter Green's main AT40 legacy was writing "Black Magic Woman" which was a fall 1970 hit in Santana's cover.

"Oh,Well" made the top forty in the fall of 1979 by a band called The Rockets. If and only if we get 8/4/79 next week (not too likely IMO but not impossible) that might be an appropriate Peter Green tribute as an optional extra. (It entered the top 40 the following week and stayed there for six weeks.) Or as mentioned the original "Oh Well" could be a 1970 curveball extra but not a totally implausible one, due not only to Green's passing but also its status as Fleetwood Mac's first chart single and their subsequent mass popularity. Santana's version could also be used while mentioning him in the intro.

Prediction for next week's show:
1st Guess - 8/6/77 2nd Guess - 8/11/73
Similar to 1983, 8/6/77 seems to rise to the top. This show hasn't been played in 11 years and none of the other possibilities seem to be nearly as strong. Going with this '73 show as the second choice mostly because it hasn't aired in a really long time (2007 to be exact!). But 8/8/70, 8/7/71, and 8/11/79 are all ones I wouldn't count out (and maybe even 8/12/72, but I think we would all agree that it would be a major letdown if that were the pick for next week).

'Matt' was correct, and I'm happy. Summer of '77 was a great time in my life.

'Matt' was correct, and I'm happy. Summer of '77 was a great time in my life. But Summer of 2020 with prolonged movie theatre closures/movie delays is worse and might lead to movie theatre chains going bankrupt and permantly out of business if Tenet doesn't open in the USA on Labor Day 2020.

It doesn't appear to have any relation whatsoever. Not the first time we've seen this...

^ Tenet is an upcoming spy film, set for release on September 3. Thank you for the explanation. Still quite don't get how dth1971's response correlates to the 1977 show or mga707 saying it was a great time in his life. It kind of seems like he was putting a damper on that recollection of happy times. These shows (80s as well) evoke many happy/happier/fond times in our lives, pandemic or not, current events and life as we now know it sometimes drives us to those memories... it's like, let us have/enjoy them.

8/06/1977 hasn't been played since 2009... per jdelachjr2002, these were the extras: Hour #1: "Dreams" - Fleetwood Mac (fell out of Top 40 that week) Hour #2: "Nobody Does It Better" - Carly Simon Hour #3: "Keep It Comin' Love" - KC & The Sunshine Band
Given Premiere doesn't bother with droppers as extras anymore, I nominate "Cold As Ice" by Foreigner, which was a week away from hitting the 40 and peaked at #6. The others should stay on.
