Dylan's jump from Columbia to David Geffen's Asylum Records and then back to his old label after only two LPs--one studio (the above-mentioned "Planet Waves") and one live ("Before the Flood"--Dylan and The Band) has to be one of the great examples of the old adage "The grass isn't always greener...". Would love to hear more about the Dylan/Hall dispute. Could you elaborate? This is what Bob said: " Way back when, I was in Nashville making some records and I read this article, a Tom T. Hall interview. Where was the original Tom T. Hall interview-article that apparently started all this bad blood? Talk about long memory on Dylan's part...Highway (1973) revisited.

Here's the link to a full LA Times transcript - he also gets in a shot at Merle Haggard, among others: Transcript of Bob Dylan's MusiCares Person of Year speechAfter 30 years of fandom, I've learned not to guess too much at the motives & intents behind anything Dylan says. He also mentions how Johnny Cash went to bat for him, so maybe some of the crap he got during the "Nashville Skyline" era was coming to mind as he spoke. Thanks for posting that link--that was a great speech! If half of the people winning something or other would make half as interesting, entertaining, and thought-provoking a speech as that one, awards shows just might actually be worth watching!

Even a longer memory than that: Dylan's "Nashville Skyline" came out in 1969, and James Taylor's "Country Road" (mentioned by Dylan as part of the Hall interview) came out in 1970. I'm guessing the original interview came out during that period.

KRTH has also dramatically overhauled their music mix as KOLA has done recently since a new PD came on last year to boost their 25-54 numbers with spectacular results,
OTOH, they added Scott Shannon's syndicated program to their Saturday morning lineup replacing Gary Bryan's 'Rewind', so as is the case with sister station CBS-FM/NYC, don't expect KRTH to add any 70s-centered programming as it also continues slashing 70s music from their library.

This week was slightly better...nobody guessed more than one correct once again, but this time three did that, and two out of the three were guessed.
This week's extras are:
Hot - Angel in Your Arms Diana Ross - Love Hangover (original AT40 extra) Andrew Gold - Lonely Boy

3/22/75 was one of the first shows played in 2007... no one was guessing optional extras back then!
Optional extra predictions for the 3/22/75 show:
* "It's A Miracle" by Barry Manilow * "Killer Queen" by Queen * "How Long" by Ace
There's a "feature" song on the original playlist... "Eight Days A Week" by The Beatles. Is there any difference between an original AT40 "extra" and a "feature"?
