While we are talking about the Andy Gibb (and Rod Stewart) erroneous songs being played, do any of you remember the Casey's Top 40 from February 1, 1997 when Casey was supposed to play Prince's new song, "The Holy River" at #31, and instead played "Somebody's Somebody". I have always wondered how in 1997 that mistake could have happened. I just read that "Somebody's Somebody" was the B side to "Holy". I guess they used singles still in 1997 on CT, however that would be hard when many of the songs that hit the top 40 then were actually not singles. Would love to know how the error actually happened. I think during the 1998-2004 AT40 second Casey era there were 2 errors for some AT40 episode airings: One time a different Brian McKnight song was played instead of "6-8-12" and another time a different Next song was played instead of "Wifey".

I can confirm the Next error; it was the 9/9/2000 show, I believe (in its debut week). Just heard it a couple years ago or so. I knew it didn't sound right.

I believe it was a song from a group called Ideal, so it wasn't even a Next song. I have no idea how that happened but at least they played the correct song the next week.

You can even hear them say "Ideal" before the first verse of the song. I just heard that part of the 9/9/2000 show again.
I know the Andy Gibb error has been well-documented, but at least they got the correct artist. Not sure how they screw up this bad...unless the song was mis-tagged or something.

Believe it or not, Ideal made the R&R CHR top 40 reaches circa 1992-1993 with "Get Gone", Casey's Top 40 and Rick Dees played this when it made the R&R charts, but Shadoe Stevens didn't since it didn't make the AT40 chart (Radio Monitor or Top 40 Mainsteam).
