I was most surprised by the number of two week peaks from October of 1980 through June of 1983. During that time Billboard had their "superstars" which mean a song had to go from superstar to star to no star. That's what lead to so many songs peaking for multiple weeks. Even during this time, though, there were several songs that went from superstar to no star.
