Solid Gold Digital, from New Zealand, does exactly the same 2NUR-FM does with the 70´s show.

Pizzzzza, you can add KOLW to the list of stations that play the optional extras. They played them last weekend.

Either this is a glitch, or WOGL is no longer playing AT40 the 70s at 6AM EDT. Instead Casey's in the middle of an 80s countdown (not sure which year). 6/4/2011 3:08AM PDT

WOGL is playing this weeks countdown in 1984 and apparently they started at 5am because they are halfway through the second hour.

I wonder if they'll play the seventies show after. This s**t always keeps you on the edge of your seat. It was so easy at the beginning when KKLZ played BOTH the 70s and 80s shows. Terrestrial.

They actually began at the regular 6AM time and ran the type of promo they ran with the recent '79 shows stating because it's a four hour broadcast they'll be starting at #30.

Also heads up - WFMX plays optional extras on their 70s show broadcast. I was using them to record just the optional extras and paste them in to my WOGL recording. Tonight I may let WFMX supply both 80s and 70s.

Forgot to hit record today for KKLZ terrestrial broadcast. Used this great thread to find WORC. They don't play the optional extras and seems like the whole show's in mono (I realize in '72 some tunes were mono for AM radio, but as I recall in other recordings from this time period there are also stereo versions). Am going to try another stream before I give up this week. So just for info, it appears WORC does not play optional extras.

pizzzzza I have sent an e-mail to WOGL inquiring about last week, and asking which Casey Kasem shows they will be playing and when. Will post as soon as I hear back.

Guys, I called and talked to a WOGL DJ Sunday. She didn't know what was up, but had already heard about the change from several other callers. She couldn't believe the switch was permanent, indicating it would be "big news" around the station. So I called the music director when I got home from work today. He told me now that they've incorporated more early '80s' songs into their rotation, they decided to throw an occasional early eighties edition of American Top 40 into the mix. I suggested they play both editions weekly in separate time slots. He said they don't have an available regular time slot for the eighties version of the program and fans of the '70s edition were expecting to hear their show 6-9AM Saturday. I made clear my preference for the seventies show and asked if there was any thinking as to which '70s shows they would preempt for an '80s' alternative ( I was concerned they might be ditching the early seventies shows). He indicated the choice was random, that most weeks they'd run the seventies show with an occasional eighties edition inserted for variety and station branding. He also praised the show, indicated they valued the loyalty of its' listeners and were committed to continue airing AT 40.
