The only disadvantage is that the station produces their own "AT 40 extra's" to help cover the Canadian content regulations associated with Canadian radio. An extra is always a Canadian song. Usually in Canada we don't black out anything to the internet that is on air. I never did understand that one. Do you mean that they replace the Premiere extras with Canadian ones, or is it just that their "time filler" songs are Canadian ones, a la CKRU?

On CKRU and other Canadian stations they play the Premier extra, followed by a time filler Canadian song and in some cases another song is played if needed to hit the top of the hour.

On CKRU and other Canadian stations they play the Premier extra, followed by a time filler Canadian song and in some cases another song is played if needed to hit the top of the hour. No, they produce a totally locally produced "extra" with station talent saying "we'll get back to casey....blah blah blah...with a bit of basic chart info on the song and play a canadian song that's year appropriate. that usually takes them up to the top of the hour. Any premiere produced extra is NOT run at all. It's no big deal, as it really doesn't take away from the show. If CKRU is running more then one song, I'm guessing their spot load isn't exactly heavy. This is a top 5 station in a 10-12 station market, with their sister station being in the top 3 consistently. If they're not sold out on a regular basis, they're probably close. I'm guessing this is unique to affiliates, but fairly easy to do. Just have station talent record a voice track of about 60 secs or less into the song with basic info, once an hour and your done. I can see this how this can sound better and more personal then just running cancon for fill to the top of the hour.

Yeah, it seems Coast 103.2 now works only on PCs, not on smart phones or Internet radio appliances (I usually listen on my Squeezebox or iPhone). Still sad...

Thanks for the info. I would have never thought to look there thinking any post on that page would be like the first ever post. In fact, taken literally, it looks like it still is. But the "UPDATED FEB. 28" obviously explains that. Anyway, there is one show that is missing from the list. That is WMLX Sat. 6-10pm est. Happens to be the one that I listen to. You guys on the west coast have it good. You can listen to the Coast Thur. nights. It's quite late here on the east coast.

Actually, I'm the one who keeps that page updated - pretty much daily, thanks to everyone's help on here - it's quite a task! We had decided a while back on here that we needed a list of the AT 40 70s and 80s shows - so I volunteered to get it started, since I already had a pretty comprehensive list to begin with. Anytime you come across a new station, a station with a new program time, or any change/additions to either list, please feel free to let me know on here! It's all for us!
