How awesome to see Casey back in action!! I laughed out loud at the commercial, but, it also kind of brings home the point as to how radio and chart shows aren't as relevant as they once were... which is definitely sad.

Tee hee! Did anyone catch the Cincinnati reference?

Definitely awesome seeing Casey again... but I wish they'd punched up his voice a little more in post production. It sounds way older than it did even last year on the final shows. (Or maybe that's the point...)

So was the Cincinnati reference pure coincidence or a hidden reference to 1985? It's always fun when Casey pops up like this. I hope he is enjoying his retirement.

Two things... 1) That link no longer works...here's an updated one: www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mzTDoAnk9g2) Re: S/XM...are those new voicetracks from Casey or the ones he'd originally done for XM some years back? (I don't subscribe anymore, so haven't heard them.)

Casey did a new series of voicetracks just after XM merged with Sirius, and that was what I was talking about as far as his voice sounding healthier there versus on the Sprint ad.

so those custom liners on sirius are likely older then the sprint ad.
I'm really surprised that sprint would use him, given how seacrest has taken over for the younger demo. Not that i'm complaining, but if they're targetting the 20 somethings, I would think it would be seacrest.
still good to see him though. Sorry to hear how his voice has gone...i listen to the 70's stuff every weekend in the car. At Least we do have the old shows.

Not that i'm complaining, but if they're targetting the 20 somethings, I would think it would be seacrest. Maybe Casey being there is precisely the point of the ad. Look, when he's about to go on about the lady in Cincinnati, the young guy next to him says: "Excuse me, Mr. Kasem. It's finished!". This symbolizes a couple of things: 1) How fast the Sprint service is; 2) How outdated the notion of Casey Kasem and what he used to do is. You see, before the Internet, iPods and such, the only way you could listen to the Top 40 songs of the week was if you waited and listened to the show itself. And besides the songs, you also had all the talk about the songs, the LDD's, the "Tops of the Other Charts" and all that to sit through before you could finish hearing the whole thing and find out who was #1. These days, what it takes is a few clicks and that's it! Plus, not only do you not have to sit through the filler, you can just listen to the songs any way, when and where you want to and/or fits you. In conclusion: what Casey represents in that ad is the old days. The new days, of course, is Sprint and everything attached to it. Hope this was useful.

It doesn't look like the usual browser plugins (in IE or Firefox) recognize it. There might be something after the video plays to click in order to DL it, but I'd have to look again to see if that's actually the case, or if it's to DL something else... UPDATE: Rechecking, I saw the download button (which normally appears as the middle of three buttons when the mouse pointer is positioned within the playing video) was greyed-out. Sorry, folks, no dice here.

Oh, sorry. I used a screen capture program and recorded it. How's that for a delayed response?
