Not 100%, but for all 3 decades (80s, 90s, and 00s) Rick has been providing the same repeat shows to his radio audience for a little over a year now. Maybe the revived Retro dees app due anytime this month might resolve this. The app and radio don't feature the same shows (except in rare cases) so doubtful.

No, the radio stations are assigned one specific program per week (per decade). Their download software accepts the assigned program from the Dees network and all radio stations should be playing the same option nationally each week. The main problem for listeners is that they don't rotate the shows enough so it is not unusual to get the same show 3 or 4 (or more) years in a row. My theory is that Rick and staff just don't take the time to rotate the shows in a more user-friendly way. Luckily they do a much better job of rotation on the app.

Meanwhile, the app has now updated finally. Now playing: February 14, 1987 February 17, 1990 February 17, 2007 Which means Dees 2K almost certainly swaps years from last week - last week, the app had 2001 while radio had 2007, this week the app has 2007 and KKMK will almost certainly have 2001.

and KKMK will almost certainly have 2001. Indeed: 2/17/2001 it is, for the 6th time. Rick deleted R. Kelly (!? semi-odd choice, unless he was going 1992-93-level conservative at this stage - but even that doesn't square with, say, letting 3LW go just fine), Ludacris, and Outkast from the matching R&R chart, stuck Debelah Morgan down in the 30s (she would otherwise go recurrent along with Faith Hill and Samantha Mumba), and also switched Britney Spears and Vertical Horizon as well as 3 Doors Down and "Angel". Rick mentioned that the chances of Britney Spears and Madonna recording a duet was now "slim to none". I mean, I don't know if I'd call it a full-fledged "duet" per se, but - it seems like they evidently found a way to make it work, wouldn't you say? "No Nuttin' ": "Liquid Dreams". I actually think this had the exact same "non-intro" setup sequence as last week. DEES GETS HIS FACTS WRONG, PART 394583495: "Fire" as #1 this week back in 1975 - should've been "You're No Good". PART 394583496: Saying "Nobody Wants to Be Lonely" was highest jumper for the second week in a row - no Rick, the song you just got done playing ("The Call") was last week's highest jumper. PART 394583497: The #1s from other musical arenas, in a sense. Country and Rock can be deemed OK if it's considered that they would match up with the R&R week (and that Rick was using Alternative for "Rock"), but I have no earthly idea where he pulls his so-called Dance #1s from. PART 394583498: "Independent Women Part 1" had 7 weeks at #1, not 6 (this doesn't count frozen weeks, as I don't think Rick ever counted those). PART 394583499: The Lenny Kravitz medley, which did NOT contain all Top 5 hits, nor had he previously even made it to #2 (that was on AT40). (Yes, I know, he gets facts wrong on a weekly basis, but I couldn't pass up the running gag on this one. ) Rick also mentions that "Again" could make it a Grammy-winning #1 for Lenny Kravitz - which does happen, giving him his third consecutive Best Male Rock Vocal Performance.

KDGL TheEagle1069.com is not carrying Rick Dees the 80s today. They are having a St Jude's radiothon.

There is apparently an app update that is going out on Monday - but I'm not sure that would explain the retro shows being delayed, as the present-day ones have been updated as normal. So, the app update didn't go through perfectly. After installing the update, it would act like my Internet connection was offline, even though it wasn't. This didn't go away, so I decided to try uninstalling the app, then re-installing it (under what would now be the "new" version of it) to see if that would fix the problem. Fortunately, that worked.

I also had issues with the update, as an Android user. I finally uninstalled the Rick Dees Hit Music app and installed the new BYO Channel app, and created a new username and password, with a different email address, and finally got it to work.

Background images not yet updated, but those will be forthcoming...now playing on the app:
February 23, 1985 February 19, 1994 February 21, 2004
As it happens, the 90s have the new show of the week, as both 1985 and 2004 were done in 2020.

Can anyone suggest an app that can be installed on my PC? BYO obviously won't work.

Featuring the shut out of R&R CHR Top 40 "Set U Free" by Planet Soul at #39. Rick was using his own chart more dance/urban leaning at that 1996 time.
