"Move Your Feet" was, oddly enough, #41 on the corresponding R&R chart that week. "Harder to Breathe" was #39 - Dees switched Maroon 5 and Stagga Lee, who spent three consecutive weeks at #40 in R&R/AT40.

Here's one of the more roundabout ways of making a song "dated" - at #40, No Authority say to "hit me with the seven digits". I don't know how widespread this is currently, but here in Michigan, this year we had a regulation put in place where now all phone calls must include the area code - which increases phone numbers from seven digits to ten.
"Come on Over Baby (All I Want is You)" debuts a week early compared to the corresponding R&R chart - but as far as Dees is concerned, it's just as well, as while it's not on the R&R chart, it IS easily the most-added song at radio for the week (the only one pulling in a triple-digit adds total; second place falls a bit short) - and on the July 29 AT40, it would sail right in at #29.
On the flipside, Dees deleted "Otherside" at least a week early (it would otherwise be #40), and continued to hold "Party Up" off the countdown - in turn, No Authority got in early, and "If Only" got in at all, though I think #39 was all the further that went.
"Simple Kind of Life" had a slight remix played (in the 80s/90s, it would be like a standard "single version") that had more of a straight-rock sound than the original.
Whenever Rick does his snippets of songs from X years ago (this week it was 34, 24, and 14), I always check those dates, and also check the Cash Box #1s just because. For 1966, that yields something very interesting, as their #1 on 7/30/1966 was "They’re Coming To Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa!"
Dees played the version of "Faded" which was essentially the original song, but had the rap from Thrust added in. Stations often played a cleaner and rap-less version which had lyrical alterations such as "I'm gonna take off all your clothes" becoming "I'm gonna move in nice and close". I want to say Dees eventually switched to that one too, but I'm not 100% sure - AT40, on the other hand, I think always played the version with Thrust.
I vaguely remember that "will the real Slim Shady please shut up" parody that he played a clip of.
Within the countdown, Dees switched Eminem and the Backstreet Boys, and Joe and Britney Spears - at the bottom, there was also, technically, No Authority and Hanson, as on R&R No Authority were #41 while Hanson was #42 (where they peaked). But right below Joe and Britney, he would have at least had a case for switching Jessica Simpson and BBMak, as those two tied in spins this week at #11 and #10. But that in turn reveals that R&R were still relying on the "song on more stations wins" tiebreaker, as Jessica had the bigger spin gain but was being played by just one less station. (Joe and Britney, on the other hand, were over 700 spins apart.)

Dees 2K has updated to August 9, 2003. So far, that's it. (Sigh...we're back to this one updating right away, and the other two taking their sweet time. )

WBEL Mostly90s.com is playing this same countdown again today. Update: A little over an hour into today's show, Rick is still playing the 08/04/90 show. They were at #29 on the countdown. I wish they would put this show on the app for the 90s show. I'll settle for them updating to...something else at all. Dees 2K is still the only one updated so far. WXCV Citrus 95.3 is also playing 1990, so it's looking like radio is indeed getting the same 90s show for a second week. ETA: As is WVLF Mix 96.1, so yeah I'd say that's a given. However, kani: They appear to be playing a 3-hour edition, as they started at #31. Their website confirms it, so their listing should be updated as 4-7 PM.

Well, will you look at that - the 90s have now changed, and they're opting for 1990 as well! The app, however, is going for August 11. Will that do, mjl677? (Worth noting: This show is entirely new to retro Dees.) ETA: And the 80s are getting in the "matching radio" habit as well, only they're matching exactly - meaning the app is doing August 9, 1986 as well. Not a lot of choices this weekend, eh? I expect tomorrow's KKMK show to be something other than 2003, however. (I can count on one hand the number of times radio and the app have played the same Dees 2K show, since the two sides split, and radio has never played an August 2003 show yet to date.) If I had to guess, I'd say either 2001 or 2008 are most likely.

I’m interested in the 1990 show. I just hope it’s not a situation like a few months ago where it was one show for the first hour and the rest was a different show (I think that was a 1991 show though). Has anyone listened to it yet?

If the app does 2002 next week, then there's a chance next week has the first time where app and radio play the same Dees 2K year, but different shows. (I don't count the four months at the start of the pandemic when radio was airing off-week shows.)
In any case, the app hasn't done 2002 since Memorial Day weekend, so that year is overdue there by now. (Actually would have expected it THIS weekend, but if it turns up next weekend then that at least explains doing an earlier-calendar show first. It'll be 8/10 in any event, as 8/3 was done last year and 8/17 would be the radio show.)

As for tonight's 2001...
When life (mostly?) imitates art: In this case, the "art" of this lyric: "Mr. Play-it-Safe/Was afraid to fly". Rick mentioned Travis Barker's fear of flying - and Travis would be in a near-fatal plane crash in 2008.
The Countdown Challenge winner that Rick talked to apparently listens on what would have been my area affiliate, Mix 100 in Saginaw - but he also said she was in Madison Heights, at which point at least one of the two has to be wrong, because Madison Heights is a suburb of Detroit, and even WIOG with its 86K-watt signal would struggle to get a signal down that far. Mix 100 (WTCF), meanwhile, still has merely a fraction of that signal strength. Oh, by the way, as I've mentioned before, Mix 100 would also have been airing the Hot AC version of the Weekly Top 40...
I recall the "Tomb Raider remix" of "Get Ur Freak On" - the addition of Nelly Furtado there was definitely strange at that time. It wouldn't have been had it happened five years later, but in 2001 Missy and Nelly were in rather different musical orbits.
But speaking of Nelly Furtado, Rick switched her and 'N Sync vis-a-vis R&R.

Anybody having issues with the app this week? I can't tell if it's the app or my phone causing the problems but it's very aggravating. The show will start properly but as soon as it tries to transition to the next segment it hangs up and/or gives me error messages. I've rebooted my phone and rebooted my router, and nothing helped. I tried it at work and the same thing happened. I tried it using mobile data instead of Wifi and the same thing happened.
It's times like this when it really annoys me that the app is the only way to stream the show. They make you dependent on one device to listen and if your device isn't working right, tough luck...
