Forgive me if this has already been asked (or mentioned), but do you know if the 2000s version of Dees will eventually be put up on his website? That would break up the monotony of the same set of 80s/90s shows year after year.

That would break up the monotony of the same set of 80s/90s shows year after year. I have been trying to find out this information via email but I am not receiving any helpful responses. I wouldn't hold my breath since over the years Rick's website has only gotten less and less helpful. I suspect that his staff size has been getting smaller and smaller over the years.

For this weekend Rick is providing 04/26/1986, a show that was skipped last year so it hasn't aired since 2015.
For the 90s option we have the All Request special from 04/23/1994, which was just played three weeks ago.

The 80s and 90s are handling or distributing very poorly! And before 80s updated, there was rick.com Apr 25, 1987 failed to update, and few radio stations played May 2, 1987..

What was the answer to the current challenge this weekend? It was a speedy CD either of Justin Bieber, Adele or Kaleo.
Thanks

reception73 proboards is nice enough to respond my post and explains why he no longer posts the charts. He said Rick Dees current charts has been out of loop, and omitting many songs. AT40 charts are true and similar to mediabase chart. That has nothing to do with rick.com no longer displaying the chart, he is moving on to start making threads archive AT40 instead. oh well..

How bout that?! Exactly 22 years later than Rick's 80s show this week and these 2 shows have Janet's first and last hits. First time I had ever heard "Feedback" I think.

This week's shows are 5/3/86 and 4/30/94. The 1994 show is a first for me. Well over 1000 countdowns heard over the years and this is the first one I have ever heard in which none of the first 3 songs are in the top 40. Played the sure shot and then played the #1 song from a year ago, announced the #40 song, when into the next segment and played "Smells Like Teen Spirit" as a sort of tribute to the recently deceased Kurt Cobain, announced the #39 song and the finally played #38. Those were rap songs that he skipped and he skipped another one in the 30s. 3 songs skipped and counting. Did not skip every rap song. Played that Lighter Shade of Brown song that Mariah sampled on "Honey" a few years later but edited it way down. Why not handle all rap songs that way instead of making this a skipfest! Oh the WT40 challenge was Sting. One of the easier ones there. Then he skipped "The Power Of Love". LMAO! Yeah that's rap. Not even going to be 40 songs played in this show either, extras included!
Lol at his shot at Casey. Like Casey as much as anyone but that was funny what he said there!

Yes, April 30, 1994 last time was played was in weekend of May 3, 2014, three years ago. So I guess this time they're no longer following year to year repeat, but some repeats with few years ago and such.

Presenting the Weekly Top 40 just as it originally aired--back to back shows just like they aired in consecutive weeks in 1986 and 1994.
At least this 1994 show is a regular one after last week's all request special, and, more surprisingly, isn't the same one they played this week in the last two years. If they can't find any more unplayed shows, then let's at least mix it up a bit more.

Did anyone else receive an email from "BYO Support" this morning? It is inviting me to download the new Rick Dees app and gives me the option of going to the Apple App Store or the Google Play store. It says it features all editions of the Rick Dees WT40 including the newly released D2K edition (which must be the 2000-2009 package). I clicked on the Google Play link and it seems to be a legitimate site. Unfortunately I don't have a smart phone, only a landline, so it is probably useless to me. There is no option to download anything to my desktop PC. Here are the links in the email: Apple: itunes.apple.com/us/app/rick-dees-hit-music/id1143421856Google: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.byochannel.byo.rickApp&hl=enThe email came from support@byochannel.com. I suppose I got the email because I have sent several emails to Rick over the years and I am registered with the Rick.com website.

He is promoting that new app on the current show too. Btw, that 1994 show was for the chart week of 4/23/94. May have been the last week that he was a week behind CT40. Funny because I heard the 4/30/94 CT40 last weekend. So I heard those weeks in reverse order! Everything moves at a glacial pace at rick.com. With the new 2K app, you wonder when a reference to the 2K show much less the play option will appear on the site.
