Doofus67 hasn't posted the Fantasy Top 20 for the chart date of October 11th for the years 1975, 1980 and 1986. He had a busy day today. This has absolutely nothing to do with the topic. Go obsess over that somewhere else.

Next week it'll be all about 1986, the same chart date as Premiere.

Ten Fridays remain in 2019 after this Friday's episode. We will back to odd years if the Countdown stays as it has for the most part this year. The last group of odd years was (in order): 1989, 1981, 1985, 1987 and 1983. (Please correct me if I made a mistake)! If this holds true, the even years will follow: 1988, 1980, 1984, 1982 and 1986.

The orders are correct for both groups, but I'm almost sure they'll change up the odd years a bit because of potential recent repeats, but that of course hasn't stopped them before.
Also, if you listen closely to the bumper they usually use when announcing even-numbered years, you can hear that they used a bit of "Don't Fight It", which was on this past weekend's show.

My hope for this coming weekend is 1981. I'm not expecting that, but hey making a prediction here worked last time!

Next week it'll be all about 1981! So thankfully no 1989 repeat this time.

Next week it'll be all about 1981! So thankfully no 1989 repeat this time. So the countdown will end with us being caught somewhere between the moon and New York City. At least that means we should get November and/or December 1989, which to me seem to be relatively neglected with the multiple replays of 10/28/89 and 1/7/89, with most other years getting turns in between.

We can hope, though. The selection of 1981 for this coming week is great, though, for two reasons. It'll be the first October 1981 chart played in five years, and as already noted, it bumps 1989 into November for the first time in six years.

Should be 11/4/89 which is a welcome change over 10/28/89 and 1/7/89 when they have overplayed those two chart dates.

Not to mention it's the only week we'll be hearing "Don't Ask Me Why" by Eurythmics, which was their last hit.
Also, with all the screw-ups they made this week, at least they played the right version of "Say Goodbye to Hollywood".

Next week it'll be all about 1987. At least they're not doing it on the 14th, but I wish they would have gone with 1985.

Just like this past weekend's 1989 offering, the upcoming 1987 show is from an era that's featured like clockwork every year, however both were new charts for this show. And it even seems like they adjusted the rotation to avoid overdone repeats, which would have been the case if they'd used 10/28/89 or 11/14/87. I'm hoping for 1983 the following week, although 1985 would be a decent second choice. It would actually be the 11/16 chart, so wouldn't copy Casey. It's very likely going to be one of these.
