At least there's still a chance we can hear a new chart if they finally choose it for next weekend. If they continue to ignore it, at least 1988, which is the next furthest, will be new as well.
Also July 4th weekend is in a couples weeks too so I hope they stop acting all chicken and do a special countdown for once.

Let's hope Premiere's scheduling prerogatives aren't throwing all the monkey wrenches into the works, so to speak.
Over there, 1988 is up this week, and now 1984 will be up next week. The twist: Neither one matches the date week like they would here, which would give Big 40 some cover. If 1984 is next over here, that will be 6/23, while Premiere's doing 6/30. If 1988 is next, that's a week after Premiere did 6/25 (which Big 40 doesn't shy away from doing, in fact that happened with 4/11/81 back in April).
And, by the way: IF 1988 is next AND there is no special countdown for the airing week beginning July 1 (Friday)...1984 would be in play for a new chart. (Though, that would mean two weeks of doing what Premiere just did the week before.) It may also be possible that a "regular" chart airs on Friday, July 1, but then a special drops in during the week (likely on Monday the 4th) - haven't they done it that way before?

Usually a special countdown would preempt the regular countdown, thus pushing the schedule back by a week. I'm hoping so because we're dangerously close to getting yet another 7/5/80 repeat if they don't.

It is also entirely possible to get a special countdown AND 7/5/80 - I mentioned July 1 being a Friday, that makes July 8 the next Friday, and guess which of those two dates is closer to July 5?

Yeah there's that. Unless if they do go with 1980 on July 8, they could play the later date instead like they did this week. Either that or feature whichever year out of 84 or 88 that wasn't done.

Next week 6/25/22, is June 30, 1984 by Casey/Premiere. Hopefully, if they pick it next, they do 6/23/84. It should be if they do 1984 next week. Totally agree as that would be closest to Fri, 6-24-22.

Next week's not AT40... 1984

The 1984 drought finally ends. Hopefully next time we won't have to wait another nearly three months. Also 6/23 will be new and won't copy Premiere's date.
That now leaves 1988 that hasn't been done the longest, at about the usual 10 weeks. If they do that for July 4th weekend instead of a special, I think that one will also be new.

I'd have liked 1980 next week, as it wouldn't be the same year as Casey (unless 1984 is in fact a B), and it would ensure we don't get 7/5/80 for the umpteenth time. But they probably don't usually do 1980 and 1981 back to back.
1988 on July 4 weekend would work, as I don't know if they've done 7/2/88 before; in any event we don't get AT40 from that week (guest hosted, not long before Casey was gone altogether) and we of course get Casey from that year this weekend.

Oh yes, anything to avoid 7-5-80, yet again on July 8th, although recently they did jump ahead, and it could be 7-12-80. Would that be a new chart, or slightly repeated?

That's been done - but only once, in 2012. Yes, that would be a MUCH preferable option. (For the record: All of July 1980 has been done, as have 6/21 and 6/28.)

Looking forward to some of the other years, I wonder if they'll wait longer to do 1985 and 1987 again than usual because last time out, both years were featured earlier than expected.
