Riddle me this one: How come XM "Knows" what show they are doing NEXT weekend (which incidently is the Dead Dog Dedication show) on the 80s channel, but do NOT know what they are going to air 12 hours from now??? I guess it'll be a "surprise".[/quote} I have three guesses: 1) They'll do a 1982 show, since they haven't done one from that year since June. 2) They'll do the Sept. 20, 1980 show that Premiere has also scheduled for this weekend. 3) They'll do the 1986 show that Premiere aired last weekend.

Again I don't get XM but I'd like to see them air the 9/20/80 show if only for the curiosity if they will include "Wooden Heart" and "Michael" - the two Archive songs that Premiere deleted from their broadast. When XM aired the 7/12/80 show, it included the Archive song "Teen Angel" that Premiere had deleted.

I can tell you why XM 80s isn't good about posting its dates for AT40-their PD (Rick Stacy) doesn't care enough to do so and doesn't seem very interested in doing more than he has to. John Clay, the 70s PD, is much more dedicated to the success of AT40 on XM and is much better about posting the dates of AT40 broadcasts on the 70s.

Looks like it's 9/18/82 -- a re-run from last year. Oh well (good show, though).

Well, this is unusual....
I checked the XM website for this week's AT40 shows, and as of today (9/29), there is no word on which AT40 show 70s on 7 will run this Saturday, just a generic description of AT40. The 80s station has scheduled an AT40 from September 24, 1983, according to the website. Usually, the 70s station is more dilligent about posting AT40 shows than the 80s station, so I don't know what happened. Personally, I'm pulling for either the October 6 or 13, 1979 show.

Its been posted now. an its 10/14/78. The strange thing is, if you look at weds & thursday nite, it doesnt even show AT40 being played. It does show it in the 'program guide' but, it doesnt list what show airs on the 80s channel. I think it was an '86 show, do you know?

I believe XM80s did September 13, 1986 this past Sunday, so they'll probably replay that one this Thursday. As far as the 70s show, I was so hoping for one of the non-Shuckatoom shows from October 6 or 13 of 1979. Maybe they'll do one of those later in the month, but it won't be the end of the world if they don't. Better luck next year.

This week's programs were a treat.
It was a thrill to hear 10/16/1971 as it brought back some powerful memories of halloween of that year. Notables from the program included an album cut from the #1 LP that week, the title song of Rod Stewart's "Every Picture Tells A Story". A classic album and any cut would have been deserving of a spin. And as you might expect from 1971, a wonderful variety of musical genres. Cher's "Gypsys Tramps & Thieves" jumps from #28 to #10, while the Osmond family hold the #3 & #5 positions. If only we could hear the following week's program where "Theme From Shaft" and "Imagine" debut in the countdown in the Top 20.
The 10/6/1984 was quite good as well. It was nice to catch the Joyce Kennedy & Jeffrey Osborne duet at #40 in one of the two weeks it would be in the Top 40. I enjoyed hearing Prince debut in the Hot 100 at #28 with "Purple Rain" as "Let's Go Crazy" was still at #1. And as a surprise, the Beatles were represented quite well with a long distance dedication of "The Long And Winding Road", along with a snippet of "Penny Lane" as the only street name to reach #1.

I looked up this week's XM schedule and it said that Wed. night (10/29) is 10/16/71. So is the Thursday 80s show 10/6/84?
