Began with Elton John, ended with Elton John.

They stopped doing it for awhile, but the Beatles related song thing seems to be back in place.

Wow, glad i read this post, was about to record the show, but I don't need to!!!
Not being sarcastic, reading this back it sounds that way, but honestly I had just set everything up to record the show, but I saw this post and realized I didn't have to.

March 11, 1978 this week.
This is the first regular 1978 show they've played in over five months (they did play the year end countdown from that year, originally eight hours, all in one weekend) and in terms of original chart date order, the last show before this aired was from October 1977.

This is why today you can sell 30,000 copies of an album and end up with a top five debut. Back then you wouldn't even hit the top 40. In the 90's they created the diamond award for albums selling 10 million or more. Few albums come even close to that today.

This week's show: March 17, 1973. (At least they didn't wait until next week to do 1973, when Premiere will.)
Not right before the countdown, though. Instead AT40 was immediately preceded by Meat Loaf's "Paradise By the Dashboard Light", which caused the countdown to start several minutes late.

This has been discussed before. J.J. Walker is a huge Beatles fan, so when he signs off before his last song set, he plays a song by the Beatles or an individual member. Nothing wrong with that!
